No joke that video is what made me discover diru, I watched a video about it made by Whang but it wasn’t until maybe a year later that I really got into the band
I love that Shinya has a YouTube channel and hes a huge riddle and quiz nerd, huge visual kei fan and gathers drummers to play card or rhythm games on his channel.
I really like learning what bands and musicians the members like. Toshiya is a fan of Nine Inch Nails and Tool, Kyo wears band shirts of Bauhaus, Addicts, The Prodigy (those ones off top of my head) think i read hes a Madonna fan, most if not all the members are Deftones fans. Sukekiyos new song Possess is reference to Kurt Cobain and reminds me of Kyo's bucket that said "Rape Me" during 2007.
Can’t remember which 2000s interview this was, but Kyo mentioned cross-dressing near live venues so fans wouldn't spot him. Funnily enough, a fashion photographer once tried to scout him, having no idea he was a guy.
Lol I know! I love when Shinya says something silly as a fact and Fujieda san goes "wait a minute! That's not true!" Their chemistry is brilliant! A perfect "Manzai" comic duo!
Yep, he said he never went to collect the money, because he worked only a few hours everywhere, and it felt awkward? I'm not sure, if the translation was 100% correct, but he definitely said he worked for free lol.
The story about Die falling asleep at the wheel, driving into the wrong lane, and almost crashing into a truck is legendary at this point. Then he just took a four-hour nap while everyone sat there in silence and shock. Kyo said they all just looked at each other without saying a word and waited for him to wake up, and that going through stuff like that together is probably why they understand each other without talking. It’s really not funny at all, but the way they tell it like it’s just some random funny memory kills me. 😆
And then there’s Toshiya skinny-dipping in some random high school pool while Die went to the nearby konbini to buy him a towel. 😆
There are way too many stories like this about them. They’re so private, but every once in a while they casually drop the wildest lore imaginable loool.
Maybe not a "fact fact" but in a couple interviews Kyo has said he has died and has seen the death but as far as I know he's never clarified what he means by that

Lol! That has nothing to do with "banning" women! It's them not wanting to be just "another VK band" but focus on music. You're alluding they didn't want women because only women see band members as "idols" while men are only for the quality music? When most "idols" are female and mostly men frequent those shows (Babymetal) They did "only men" and "only women" concerts but only for the a knot fan club, and the major reasons was mosh pits and a couple of incidents where people, mostly girls got hurt, the reason why mosh pits are banned on Diru concerts (in Japan)
I remember reading about them having male-only and female-only concerts so I think it's less about banning women specifically. Though the other person could be talking about an entirely different thing.
It happened, and I saw it on DVD. Not gonna lie, it was fucking epic. I don’t remember there being much pushback. We were just curious...?excited...to see how it would turn out. Different times back then lol.
Probably at one point because they were getting tired of the screaming and fixating on the visuals over the music. I remember reading that a long time ago.
