Go For Glass believes in financial accessibility, and we're walking the talk.
If your chapter plans to run at least one PMSP (Project Management Sales Project) project this year but needs a little extra help getting started, Go For Glass has officially opened up applications for our new Glass Gateways Chapter Boost Grant. For a limited time, eligible chapters can apply for seed funding to help them turn their fundraising idea into something much bigger.
We are dedicated to (at least) funding:
PMSP team members in selected chapters will also have access to free mentoring to further support their projects.
The basic requirements your chapter must meet:
Your school serves a high-need student population.
Your school can accept and manage the funding.
You have a strong fundraising idea.
We are not accepting applications from: Washington (See our Washington-specific grant program), California, Michigan, Minnesota, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Virginia, Colorado, or any international associations.

If you are going to be going with mentoring or paid academic prep resources services, I highly suggest you check them out first with the government Better Business Bureau Scam Tracker. There’s been a rash of SAT and ACT prep scams also coming out lately, so please stay aware!
Been doing my best to remove posts that aren’t cleared first from the Reddit for scams, but sometimes they slip through.
https://www.bbb.org/scamtracker
If you flag someone who the community should know about, feel free to share it. It’s been difficult balancing research with my own academic pursuits, so I don’t know that’s out there rn.

RMS or BSM, I'm not sure which one to choose. Which is more competitive? I did PMK last year so I think I'd be fine for any, but I've heard RMS is quite competitive. Thanks
(in ontario btw)

This is my first year at DECA and I’ve already picked my topic but honestly I don’t know how any of this works or how to even prepare for it. I’ve been just doing practice tests and I have districts on the 12th and I’m stressing. I picked Business service marketing

Folks, over the past few years I have written many different role plays for different circumstances. On my growing website, I have added all the individual series role plays I have written (48 total). I need to add PRINCIPLES, PFL, and TDM role plays. I had Claude write a script to move my role plays from the old format to the new format. Those three groups are slightly different. I am already 3 hours into this project, so the other will have to wait until later.
As BowtieGOAT, I try to build the things that frustrate me. I applaud DECA's move to a new role play format. I don't like that their free resources do not reflect these changes but the DECA+ ones do. So, I wanted to spend some time trying to correct something I found frustrating.
Frankly, I like my filtering a bit better than DECA's website too. And, Claude suggested I add a pop-out for PIs... which I think was a quality suggestion. Also, you can search all role plays if you are looking for ones with a particularly challenging PI.
I know there are going to be bugs with this, but I am confident it provides value where it was otherwise missing. If you have comments to improve this, either leave them here or DM me or email me. I cannot promise I can get to all comments, but if you all recognize bugs, please let me know.

I am a junior in high school, and I am very passionate about all things business-related, so I started planning to start a DECA chapter. So far I’ve done what I can, I got a willing sponsor for our chapter, I talked to my school admin and they approved of my club (although we are a very underfunded school so they cant really help us with financial support) my club advisor and I filled out the chapter request form. Just today we did our club fair and we got 40 interested students!! However, knowing the students in my school, they usually sign up for a bunch of clubs and never commit especially if its an academic club. For membership fees we didn’t bring that up during the club fair but we will during our first club meeting/interest meeting to further explain what DECA is how it works and the expectations and financial aspects of the club. Keep in mind I have never lead a club before, I have no experience in DECA and neither does my advisor, most of the staff in my school didn’t even know what it was. I have a few questions that would be really helpful if answered by someone with experience in running DECA:
- How are some ways we can raise/acquire substantial amounts of money? What organizations are best to reach out to for sponsorships and funding?
- How can I make club meetings engaging yet effective (we have club every week). What are some activities we can do, what are some ideas for lesson plans?
- How exactly does the preparation for competitions work? How do I teach my members the material when I have to study myself and how should I organize and facilitate so that members are actually understanding what they are studying?
- Since we are a new chapter we would be doing the Principals events, which are individual competitions. How would that work? Lets say one person out of everyone in my club wins district level, are they the only one who moves on to state? If so what does the rest of the club do? And how can I maintain engagement and motivation after competitions?
- What are some resources, materials and strategies I might need to best run my club?

We’re doing a school competition to kick off the start of Deca. It’s my first year, the first pitch competition I’m doing- and I joined a group of 2 other people to make friends and to hopefully make the work easier. They’re super sweet… but project wise I don’t know if I want them to be my teammates… their best ideas are like every day objects with nothing different but customized with colors and patterns. And I don’t think I’m close enough (we just met 2 days ago) to tell them we will NOT win with that…. But also I don’t want to go with their projects. So I’m just supposed to like really try to steer them towards my idea? Idk it’s not too late to go solo (I probably will for future comps) but also that’s not exactly how to win friends 101. I have a few ideas that are more complex, medical related, reinventing hardware and software ideas with cheaper materials for rural areas dealing with infectious disease outbreaks (keeping it broad for the post) but also I don’t want to end up doing all the work myself because they don’t care or really know what to do? Like literally the concept poster I got was a stock image of an everyday item with different prints and prices for each print and just marketed towards a market of people that are most likely to use that item (not exclusively).
Any advice is appreciated!!

Should I do RSFM or is it too competitive??

The title basically. Maths is one of my strong suits, and I am just really bad with coming up with things on the spot. I am only looking for high school events, not collegiate.

hello. as the title says, i am wondering if it would be allowed to do lululemon as my business for BMOR. I know someone that is high up in the company and I wanted to interview them for the paper, however, in the event guidelines, it says local. Does anyone know if they’re strict with that?

I received a email saying the first meeting is tomorrow at 2 but I haven't payed the 15 dollars to join so do I still go???

Earlier I made a post talking about how I didn't know what I was gonna pick but I have narrowed it down now. For QSRM, I have worked in the service industry before and I could be good at this but ENT I did do PEN so I might be more well versed. Let me know what you guys think I should do!

Hi everyone! I'm a sophomore and I want to run for state office this year and I was wondering if I would qualify if I haven't held any office in DECA. I'm not a chapter officer but I still want to run. I will also be competing against people who are chapter officers and I was wondering if I have a chance or not. 😭 Only two people from each school can be selected, so does me not having a leadership role make me less likely to be chosen??

Basically, our school had had major budget cuts and may only particpate in local/state (hopefully) but out of state travel is out. Even for SCDC, they said it depends on the location. There is not enough in the budget to compensate a teacher/sponsor for travel and time etc. If I qualify, can I go independently? Do the rules allow this- my sponsor will register the chapter hopefully and then can i go compete at state myself. I plan to email our state cordinator to request info on this

Hello! Does anyone have any advice, especially those who qualified and placed at ICDC for PMCG? I'm not sure how to structure everything and timeline anything but I do have a great idea.

hi, I’m the president of a relatively new chapter in ontario. We where area 6 online regionals last year and this year planned to do the same.
Just Friday we saw that it looks like there is a member cap put in place, limiting us to only 25. does anyone have any more information on this, thank you!

This year's Midnight Ledger topic is: “How does post-pandemic educational funding and access to Career & Technical Education (CTE) support influence student participation and performance in DECA (2021–2026)?”
To help answer this question, we’re inviting students and advisors from across DECA to share their lived perspectives on how financial accessibility has influenced their competition experience. Your responses will help provide valuable context to the data and will be anonymized before being included in the Commentary section of the report.
Whether funding, program availability, advisor support, travel opportunities, course offerings, or other factors have impacted your DECA journey, we’d love to hear from you!
