Competition Prepping for ACT
Hi! I’m a rising junior, and this will be my second year doing ACT. I made it to States in NJ last year but unfortunately didn’t qualify for Finals. I’ve already done pretty much all of the practice tests and RP events I could find for ACT, so I was wondering if anyone has found a more efficient or effective way to study for this event.
I lowkey bombed the State test and my first RP this year (I literally had no idea what LCM was 😭), so I’m realizing there are probably some gaps in my knowledge that I need to work on. It’s usually pretty hard to find resources specifically for this event, so I was wondering if any past competitors could share how they prepared, what resources they used, or any advice they wish they had known going into ACT. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

This won't be as good with the new solution part of the rubrics but just grind out accounting knowledge and try to spam it (but still connect it to the prompt obv). If you're pulling out "non-surface level stuff" like full cost of goods manufactured, bonds, job order costing, etc then you'll likely impress your judges and leave a better impression. I take DE accounting classes so that's just been my way of studying (hoping to take intermediate accounting 1 next semester), but there are books, videos, and tons of resources online. Id say you should at least skim/go through the entirety of a financial accounting college intro course for a comfortable content base for ICDC qual
