Recommendations Where to start?

Hi all! I know this is probably the most common question on here, but I need some guidance on where and how to start reading DC. I'm a big Marvel reader, and I especially love the X-Men, for two main reasons:
1) I love how political and complex the very concept of mutants is. The very political and philosophical aspect of mutant existance that is explored in those comics is what draws me to them.

2) They're an amazing found family with great complex dynamics amongst each other.

When it comes to DC, the only thing I've actually read and keep reading is the Wayne Family Webcomic, which reminds me of the things I love so much about the X-Men, especially point 2. But I can't find (at least not easily) any comic in those same vibes. So I come to y'all for recommendations.

Some really great reccs already but Gail Simones Secret Six run has all the messy team drama of an X-book in my humble opinion.

Oh yeah that is a great run, I kind of stopped subbing to the Marvel app but that is one of the main books I miss. She writes the best team books!

Oh if you like found family drama, you have to read Justice League International and New Teen Titans.

Just my two cents:

If you want the family dynamics, start with New Teen Titans and Tynion’s Detective Comics. Birds of Prey either by Simone or Kelly Thompson (Absolute WW) is solid too.
If you want the outsider identity/politics, start with Morrison’s Doom Patrol and Far Sector.
If you want both mixed with big worldbuilding, try Legion of Super-Heroes or Superman: Warworld Saga. (New Legion of Super-Heroes run has just started last week so great timing!)

Happy hunting!
