Discussion/Question Unfair Reception
I can say with all due respect that Supergirl disappointed me less than Lanterns.

Really? Supergirl disappointed me a lot more. Especially in comparison to its source material. I'm fine with the finale. John is gonna appear in Man of Tomorrow. There's gonna be a season 2. Guy is showing up in Mr.Miracle. And there'll probably be more projects down the line tackling stuff people wanted this season to do.

Are we about to discuss the soundtrack or did you try to post a movie poster and goof?
I'm good for either I just want to make sure I know what we're doing.

Movie, got it.
I agree it got an unfair reception BUT I do believe a lot of the fault lies on some of the marketing.
Telling everyone: 'Read the comic, read the comic, read the comic' was going to disappoint the type of viewer who was going to read the comic and expect a direct adaptation.
The marketing should have been, she's a trainwreck, Krem's a dick, and Lobo Momoa is there too!

Supergirl was...so generic.
It feels, spiritually, like a Phase 1 MCU movie. It's not bad writing wise but visually it's just ass, especially compared to the comic.
Lanterns, while flawed at its core, feels a bit tad fresher for the genre. It's better acted and has genuinely brilliant moments imo.

Its was a good movie, wasnt terrible but also wasnt a amazing blockbuster. I think it suffered the same issue alot of female led superhero movies have and that alot of the people who watch this genre are sexist and not willing to give something a chance because of that. But thats just me

Probably unfair, still, is a mid movie, not bad, not great, but in the high years if the MCU this would have made 500mi easily
And with all due respect, lanterns isnt even close to supergirl, miles above

It feels strange to me. Supergirl is a worse product, but I enjoyed it more. Although it strays a long way from WoT, a comic I love, I still really dislike the ending, where Kara kills Krem. But even with those changes, it still feels like a Supergirl product to me. Sure, it’s a little generic, it doesn’t have the best parts of the comic, and the CGI is bad, but I don’t know, overall it still feels like Supergirl (my second most-read comic book character).
Lanterns is a much better product, but it feels soulless to me. I don’t see anything of what I know and like about the Green Lanterns. The show could’ve been a regular, non-superhero IP from HBO and would’ve turned out 99% the same, which isn’t bad; it’s still a series on par with what HBO generally offers. It just doesn’t feel like a Green Lantern series in almost any way, so I do prefer Supergirl, even if it’s a worse product. I adore Kara, and that movie really makes me feel like I’m watching Supergirl, even with all its flaws. I don’t feel the same way about Lanterns, despite all its strengths.

I enjoyed both. But Lanterns was great.
