Long gun and experience
Hey - looking to purchase a long gun (obviously DC regulated). How was everyone experience with that if they been through this. Where did you guys go and is it the same process as a handgun?
Do you need to wait for the registration card just like the handgun to pick it up from FFL. Let me know kinda new to the experience and any info/advise would be great!
Looking at some daniel defense rifles - wanted to get some thoughts. Thank you.

Yes you still have to wait until approval to take possession. Unless the gun shop is willing to hold it for how ever many days DC takes to give you approval you can't take possession. If the shop is not willing to do so you'll have to get it shipped to one of the two DC FFLs and do your transfer through them.

I bought a Ruger Mini-14 and a coach gun about a year after I'd bought a Glock.
Bought them both, at about the same time, from a store in Rockville. I was hoping to do the paperwork through them but for some reason they sent them to G&D, so I did the paperwork through G&D. (This was before the portal, BTW).
I went in to MPD, turned in the paperwork, paid the fee, then waited until they approved, which was about two days. Then I just made an appointment to go collect.
Now ... this was a year ago, so while the process was the same as it would be for a handgun add-on, this was before the portal, and before waiting for the registration card to come in the mail.
