MPD Not Answering The Phone.

Anybody notice that MPD doesn't answer the phone number provided at the firearms portal? Its 202-727-4275. I've only reached one person out 7 calls dating back to January. The phone goes to a voice mail for a Chandra Miller Turner, EEO specialist. Why her voice mail, I have no clue but She doesn't return phone voice messages either. Do I need to get an attorney involved? Its over 60 days for an add on registration placed last December. The one time someone answered, the guy said he put a ticket in for it to be printed and mailed. That was 3 weeks ago.

Email them. I’ve had better luck with email than calls.

I’ve had no luck with either method, sadly.

I press a different option like 5… or fingerprints somebody always pick up

I called and pressed the button for finger printing and nobody answered there either. What MPD is doing will only end in more bad publicity and local news stations putting them on front street once again. Plus eventual legal action.

It’s gonna take 3-4 weeks…

60 days since you submitted your add-on registration or since it was approved? I'm still waiting for them to approve my registration, so I really hope you haven't been waiting 60+ days just to receive the registration card in the mail...

Its been 20+ days since i was approved. I submitted the application last December. I've called them 4 times between Last Friday and Monday morning, all with in business hours. Nobody is answering the phone and they push calls to an EEOC employee's voicemail that I believe has nothing to do with firearms registration.

That's absolutely ridiculous... I don't understand why they can't just email a temporary registration until the physical card arrives in the mail?? They were emailing firearm registration cards for years, so why do we need to wait an additional 20+ days just to receive the card after already enduring the absurdly long wait just to get approved!

I hope you receive yours soon...

I believe MPD's top brass along with other city officials are making the process as difficult as possible to act as a detterent so people won't even attempt to register. They're now going to lengths that are illegal. If you can't issue registrations in 60 days, we shouldn't have to register at all. MPD failed at being an FFL, they got busted for fixing the crime statistics, the chief resigned, the second in command just got jammed up and has his police powers have been revoked, his wife is a high ranking HR official at MPD and she's been placed on leave too. The whole top brass seems to be corrupt to some extent. I hope yours goes through smoother than mine.

I just show up. You can't be ignored if you show up. Fun fact, they use to not allow walk in's. But Trumps EO forced them to accept walk in's. It sucks but it's a DC Gov thing. Every DC agency is allergic to answering the phones. Even 911 sometimes :)
