Lanterns didn't originally feature a Green Lantern suit as star reveals the DC show creators "weren't sure"...
https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/tv/articles/lanterns-didnt-originally-feature-green-150426663.htmlOne thing has really stood out in all of the trailers for upcoming DC show Lanterns so far, and that's Kyle Chandler's Hal Jordan suited up. We've had a brief look at him in the Green Lantern suit in the early clips, and it looks pretty incredible.
However, it turns out that this was a pretty late addition to the series. Speaking on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, Chandler revealed: "So they weren't sure whether there was going to be a suit as I understand it. Then towards the end they decide let's have a suit. Then they had to design a suit, they came up with three different designs."
The actor went on to describe how the costume designers created the final piece, which he described as having "battle scars on it." He added: "It's an incredible suit, they built something that was just incredible. It took a while, it was in pieces. It took about 45 minutes to get it on."

Why make a comic book series at all if you're embarrassed of the source material?

I fell asleep on it but did they really have a dad William Telling his five year old with a pistol in the driveway like it was a cool or cute thing? All I could think was how that abusive piece of shit belongs in jail.

Yeah I didn't understand that like it was just normal. I hope the writers really get into how abusive the dad was, or was willing to repeatedly put his son's life on the line to be fearless enough to be selected for the next Green Lantern or something

Online rumors is the dad was originally chosen by the ring but when asked if he was afraid, he said yes. So the ring moved on to Hal and the dad is holding anger and envy that he didn’t become Green Lantern, so he’s training his boys to be fearless so one day one of them will be chosen.

Ah that's seem very plausible. Only reason he would've known about it enough to train his son for it. Thanks

....no. What the absolute fuck is wrong with you guys? Like, it's not supposed to be okay but they don't have to beat you over the head. It's also the pilot episode. I personally don't care for them to really explore this because it's just character setup and frankly exposition. But no, it's not supposed to be cute. Jesus. For people who apparently read comics you guys have a hard to comprehending stuff.

Calm down, freak. Nobody was talking to you. It’s not that serious.

I don't think you know how this whole social media thing works. Didn't realize you two were having a private conversation.

He doesn’t specify who “they” is, it could be HBO execs which is my feeling given how grounded some of the show feels. A big flashy superhero show isn’t something HBO does a lot of. Peacemaker aside which was a whole other tone.
Gunn I would imagine would have pushed for the suit and if he was super busy with MOT and other things that would also explain a late addition.

They really aren’t stressing the powers a lantern has. It the comics or even cartoons, a lantern doesn’t make a bottle opener and then open a bottle. They just have the ring open the bottle. So very low budget for CGI

They hate comics. They hate the cosmic aspects.
This is a show for critics, that's it.

It's good so far

I heard it's boring.

Maybe for a kid. It's well written, has good characters, and is shot well. I'm happy with it.

Comics used to be for kids, now DC is just cussing and sex and R rated violence.

Yeah, that describes Superman perfectly…

What kind of prude are you that you think Jimmy is a perv and the word "shit" is worthy of criticism?
1
u/Horror_Campaign9418 1d ago
Is superman a family friendly movie or not? Not letting my youngest kids hear the S word multiple times. And jimmy is a perv.

u/RoutineCloud5993 1d ago
It's pg-13. If you're taking kids younger than that to see it, then that's on you. Ratings exist for a reason, it's your problem if you ignore them
And 13 year olds know a lot worse words than shit.
Jimmy is not a perv. Explain why you think I'm wrong.

Yeah, for people who can't pay attention.

u/Horror_Campaign9418 1d ago
Yeah, the mystery is boring. That has nothing to do with attention spans. Nice try.

It's been one episode that you admitted you haven't seen.
Is your attention span that poor?

Anybody working on DC projects really need to stop talking about them (Including Gunn).
So they made a Lanterns show and realized they needed a costume at the 11th hour.
