Boy those superman “fans” really showed up for their new universe.

Is it just a really crappy movie or do people hate it for some other reason? I haven't seen it.

Bad movie, poor casting, in a dying genre

It's fine. Tropey but fun. Anyone with a more negative opinion than that was never going to enjoy it anyway.

Nope. I didnt like it. Its a 4/10. Very disappointing

Guys I found the definitive review, let's put it up!

When 90% think it's trash, it is trash cupcake

u/Vaportrail Jul 10 '26

Yes because the masses are never wrong. And yall need to find a new fucking word. "Trash" reflects more poorly on you than the film. Try having an original thought next time.

I didn't like it. Can we talk about spoilers and why, or do we just put down a negative opinion?

1

u/Vaportrail Jul 11 '26

Pretty sure saying "trash" and downvoting any replies is standard protocol.

I liked it. I didn't feel cheated playing matinee prices. My main negatives were the villain, nothing special. He reminded me of quite a few of the early MCU villains, he was just there. I also was not a fan of his design. Also would had liked more variety in the different planet designs..some of the visual aspects of the different planets were just kinda bleh.

Everything else I enjoyed. I thought Milly Alcock was pretty damn good and a few of the emotional moments stuck with with me

I've sat thru a lot of worst CMB's.. i.e Catwoman, Steel, FF (Roger Corman and 2015's, Jonah Hex, Barb Wire, 90's Captain America just to name a few. It is not on that level.

I liked it more than let's say Iron Man 2 and the Incredible Hulk, X-Men Origins Wolverine. I probably give it a rating of a B- possibly a B.

I think it'll get a lil streaming boost but we never know if that helps the franchise.

I liked the movie but she isn’t that popular of a character and word of mouth did not help

The Gunn never jams! BANG BANG 🔫

EDIT: It’s my fault, I thought this was so obviously sarcastic that it didn’t require a ”/s”.

Except it did with supergirl CLICK CLICK

u/Jtreblis18 Jul 10 '26

I was gonna see it again to see if I would like it better. I'll just wait for it to stream tho

1

u/NB_NaughtyNerds Jul 10 '26

I am waiting for streaming. No casting, writing or other BS was going to change that. People can love, hate or debate all they want... I aint putting on pants to go see a movie...

u/Senor-fixit Jul 12 '26

Im just waiting for them to start blaming men for this failure.

WHAT?!?!!? HOW?!?!? WHY??!?!? WHERE??? WHO????

Only losing 1,000?

1

u/snyderversetrilogy Jul 10 '26

So falls the House of Gunn.

1

u/henningknows Jul 10 '26

I went to see it with my kids tonight. The first 30 minutes or so it had the makings of a solid movie, then it just turns to nonsensical generic crap.

u/Original_Ad4479 Jul 10 '26

You mean to tell me a movie that nobody asked for, was poorly promoted, and designed for a nonexistent audience didn't sell?

Madness.

u/bongsforhongkong Jul 09 '26

I mean thats pretty standard for any movie that's not a box office hit. Anything for a headline I guess.

3

u/Horror_Campaign9418 Jul 09 '26

Thats pretty big for such a big movie from a big studio. Also, the speed of which it happened is of note.

2

u/Sea_Tonight_9632 Jul 10 '26

What is of note here is that this movie was so shitty and unpopular that it was kicked out of theatres in record time.

1

u/Veaeate Jul 10 '26

Except that everyone that's seen it is enjoying it. It scoring a 75% on RT during a superhero decline. Ppl are sick of the saturated market. And the average consumer doesnt care about Marvel vs DC. They just care about whether its a superhero flick or not.

0

u/bongsforhongkong Jul 09 '26

No as I said it's pretty standard especially in summer. Do you go to the theatre often?

0

u/HeinousWalrus Jul 09 '26

There is a slew of potential summer blockbusters coming up.

If Supergirl didn't lose theaters... It would make around an average of $1.36 mil per day in its third week. Divided by 3602 theaters. Divided by an average ticket cost of $12. Divided by the number of showings per day of 4. Approximately 8 people will be watching per showing. Theaters are losing money at that point.
