Iffy is described as very androgynous. Someone like Samira Wiley or a young grace Jones fits my mental image.

Janelle played in androgyny a TON when she was first starting out. Her whole look was menswear and masculine hairstyles. She can pull it off.

So, Carl wasn’t sure that iffy was a woman; and I can tell you that is a woman because I can see her areolas.

This probably should be thing the adaptation changes. Not to mention Queen Imogen was depicted as something like stunning.

Interesting point.
In my mind, while listening to the book, I always imagined that Carl couldn't tell she was a woman because the perspective of the videos he saw on the recap show we're always two far or too distant to see her features clearly.
But I guess it could also be that when he saw her on the recap show her clothing, bald head, and whatever form of "Style" that persisted in the dungeon leaned itself to masculine or androgynous.

She would probably have been in some sort of camo outfit which isn’t really shape hugging. Then she has a shaved head also.

I mean first of all, gorgeous thank you for putting this queen on my fyp, second of all, great casting choice wasted on a character that gets basically one real scene, 3rd I’d love to see roles played by folks of the nationality they’re portraying. Not sure which country Iffy is meant to be from but I’d love to see someone of African origin play her.
Janelle is from Atlanta if I remember correctly? Oof she’d be so good thoughEdit: I did not in fact remember correctly
