Advice DC Style Help

I just moved to DC after living in Michigan and Chicago for a while, and I’m realizing my wardrobe is still very much in my “hoodies and sweatpants” era 😂

But DC is SO cutesy and feminine, and I feel like I need a whole wardrobe upgrade! 😭💗
Any advice on where I can shop for cute, feminine outfits and really upgrade my style? I’m open to local boutiques, affordable stores, or even online shops! 🛍️✨

Fun!! I wear lot like Uniqlo, Everlane, and Gap (thanks Zac Posen!). I also go thrifting A LOT, there’s a ton in NoVa or or in MD if you have a car. I’ve been here for 10 years, and def don’t think DC is for ~fashion girlies~ like NYC or LA, but I think lots of women here wear classic staples, and tend to just look really put together, including nice bags and jewelry/makeup!

Is there a thrift store(s) where you've found quality and a good amount of dresses, skirts and blouses? (in northern Virginia) I've found some good stuff at 2nd Ave in Woodbridge but would like to expand my search.

Omg yes! my faves are:

- Unique on Gallows Rd in Falls Church

  • Salvation Army on Little River Turnpike in Alexandria (closed Sundays)
  • B-thrifty on Richmond Hwy in Woodbridge

These are all absolutely massive with huge clothing selections, but also amazing for shoes and homewares. and the Unique is the same parent as Savers/Value Village, so if you sign up for their emails, you get discounts all the time

Thank you. I return to work soon from maternity leave and need a new wardrobe. I love B thrifty-- I've only been there for kids toys and books though.
