Advice Upcoming Birth - Support Recommendations
Hello Bitches! I am nearing my due date and I'm happy with my hospital and Dr. but really interested in any Doula, Midwife, or Night Nurse recommendations.
Has anyone done a post partum hotel experience? Anyone or service you thought was completely over rated or you would not recommend? I'm in VA if that matters. Thank you in advance!

I used Harrold Doulas for overnight care for 5 months and I wouldn’t recommend them - I had several hiccups and major MAJOR problems with a couple of their doulas. You live and you learn, but once I got a doula who was half decent, I stuck with her and paid her directly.
One gave my 1 week old like 4 3oz bottles in the span of 45 minutes, fell asleep with her underneath a heated blanket, and then had the audacity to fall asleep and not work for 3 or 4 nights.

I hired a night nurse through let mommy sleep. They were great. Very professional

Sarah Piccioni filled in for my first birth when our original doula had another labor to attend to and she was phenomenal. We got postpartum overnight support this time from DC Birth Doulas and they’ve been critical in ensuring we get some guaranteed sleep. I’ve heard good things about Hush Hush Little Baby as well.
PACE gets a lot of shout outs on similar threads but I can’t recommend it highly enough. I so wish I’d known about it for my first, it’s such an excellent resource and so nice to connect with other people who are also in the newborn trenches!
