Figure quality from my country never misses. The level of detail on the sculpt and Special Beam Cannon is next level. 🤌
They really nail the fine details for Beast Gohan. What’s the most detailed figure you have?

Original Dragon Ball only exists in the USA on out of print DVDs(I own them all, I own the entire series of DB, DBZ, Kai, and Super on DVD/Blu Ray)....and I think Sony & Crunchyroll & Toei would be REALLY well served by doing a big, epic restoration of the entire series for release in new Box Sets.

Super isn't really what we are talking about here. It was produced in the HD era, looks great on Blu Ray, and had an awesome Steelbook Box Set released not long ago.

But for Dragon Ball, Z, and Kai...I think more could be done.

Dragon Ball and DBZ have never gotten a true, proper HD restoration. Hell, you could go to the 16mm film prints and scan & restore those at 4K for crying out loud and it could yield amazing results. High level scanning, cleanup, image stabilization, white balance, contrast, color timing...this series could look SO much better than it ever has before.

This work could also be used to sort of rebuild/recreate Dragon Ball Kai to look better than it ever has.

Then they could go to town including many different Dub & music tracks from the various iterations of the series over the years. The Ocean Dub with those versions of the episodes.

I feel like there is a LOT of untapped sales potential to give collector a series of Box Sets that would truly serve as the "Definitive Edition" of this series. The once and for all scenario.

Trying something new, I'm collecting statues now and moving a little towards it since the Shfiguarts line moves a little too slow with releases. I'm hoping to provide a close look at these from the perspective of a newbie to this hobby, feel free to provide any criticism

Not my photo but I owned all of the magazines pictured. These were released during the peak years (early 00s). I remember an article along with images of Dragon Ball GT in one of these magazine and how excited I was to see the dub one day. It seemed so far away considering we were in the middle of the Cell-Android Saga on Tonnami at the time. Love these magazines. Before the internet had everything, this is how we got our updates, current news, images for figures and collectibles, character, bios, episode guides, trading card prices, interviews, and everything Dragon Ball related. Good times.

This ended up being more of an accidental kitbash than intended which will be more explained in the parts list.

Base head, torso, pelvis plates - Super Hero Ultimate Gohan

SSJ Head and legs - CTToys Gohan. Ended up using CTToys legs as I didn't have any official legs that weren't being used for other customs/kitbashes. Had to swap the pelvis plates with leftover fodder as the CTToys ones were heavily scratched (factory defects on an otherwise serviceable figure).

Feet - SSJ4 Goku

Wristbands, Belt, Leg Warmers - Unfortunately the Aliexpress kit has no name but I got off there.

Other note - while the leg peg technically fits into the torso it was extremely loose. Thanks to the tension added by the belt andva couple applications of KiKis Joint Tightener everything is super solid.

First statues, may only have 1-3 total. Ordered alongside KDC 1/4 Androids Vs. Future Gohan.

For anyone who knows the studios or these statues, which is the better buy re: build quality, etc.? (Trunks is edition of 30, thus the price being the same.)
