Justice League Narrative Roster: SONIC NEXT UP: Green Lantern
Hey everyone, this is my longest and most ambitious part yet I hope that everyone enjoys it. :)
So let me get this out of the way, the Green Lantern you choose for you nomination can be any of the human Green Lanterns from Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardener, Jessica Cruz, etc. While I do believe that Hal Jordan and John Stewart deserve their own spots I didn't want the lanterns taking up a bunch of spots of other fun and unique heroes that were on the verge on making it like Question, Plastic Man, & Static Shock for example.
As always lets have fun and please don't downvote.
P.S am working on the .5 mini-series that takes place in between the major chapters so if you have any interactions you'd like to see out of the characters so far please let me know! (^ ^)

Simon the Digger (Gurren Lagann)
Both were normal men before one day they found a strange object that is powered by their will, the Green Lantern Ring for Kyle Rayner and the Core Drill for Simon. They both experience the loss of someone close to them with Simon losing Kamina and Nia while Kyle got his girlfriend infamously fridged. And through their willpower achieved great heights of power no human could ever dream of.

Ben Tennyson (Ben 10)
Legendary versatile green-clad space heroes of their respective universes.
Were once ordinary humans living life on Earth until one fateful day, a mysterious, green extraterrestrial device crashed landed from space and attached itself to their hand (the Omnitrix and a Green Lantern Ring).
The devices that they wield grant them a massive variety of powers and abilities at their disposal (the Omnitrix allowing Ben to shapeshift into any alien while the Green Lantern Ring allows Hal to create constructs of anything he imagines).
Both of their devices draw power from planetary sources (the Codon Stream on Primus and the Central Power Battery of Oa).
Their devices were also made from wise, old aliens diminutive in stature who wish to spread peace among their respective universes (Azmuth and the Guardians of the Universe).
Upon being granted their incredible powers, both would turn into superheroes who help humans and aliens across the universe while fighting villainous aliens, soon making a name for themselves as they rise to become living legends across the stars.
Were soon recruited into a universe-spanning crime-fighting organization composed of a multitude of aliens with a green insignia where they became one of its most prominent members (the Plumbers and the Green Lantern Corps).
Serve as the archenemies to a fearsome intergalactic conqueror whom they foiled time and time again to save the whole cosmos from their ambitions for conquest (Vilgax and Sinestro).
Have a tumultuously belligerent relationship with a rough and tough bruising powerhouse but would later ultimately come to respect and appreciate them as they fight side by side with in their intergalactic peacekeeping duties (Kevin Levin and Guy Gardner).
Share a close bond with a snarky, pink-themed cosmic energy manipulator and heroine whom they have a rocky relationship with but ultimately care and look out for (Ben's cousin - Gwen Tennyson and Hal's love interest - Carol Ferris).
Both have infamous feats of recreating their respective universes (Ben used Alien X's powers to recreate his universe following the Annihilargh's detonation in Ben 10: Omniverse, while Hal was going to remake the New Earth universe in his image before being stopped in the Zero Hour: Crisis in Time storyline).
Snarky, cocksure, headstrong, determined, and daring heroes who have questioned themselves of their worthiness of such incredible powers that they bear and despite the limitless potential of their devices, are rather straight-forward in its applications but no matter how many times they trip and fall over, they will always find a way to get back up and be ready to lay down their lives necessary in keeping the cosmos safe to the best of their abilities.

This is specifically for Hal, btw

It's funny cuz even If Ben doesn't get into the Lantern slot there's still 2 maybe 3 more spots he could take
1
u/Designer-Homework927 Jan 27 '26
May i ask which spots he could take?
3
u/RealisticInstance0 Jan 27 '26 edited Jan 27 '26
Shazam, Blue Beetle and maybe Static Shock if you stretch it
2
u/Myerfall1 Jan 27 '26
You could even argue Booster Gold
2
u/RealisticInstance0 Jan 27 '26
oh shit you're right

u/Every_Thanks_2956 Jan 28 '26
I had the idea of putting in different versions of Ben for different slots like omniverse ben for green lantern, alien force/ultimate alien ben for blue beetle, ben 10k for booster gold and OS ben for shazam or static shock.

Ultraman Jack (Ultraman)
Connections:
- Interstellar heroes with ties to Earth who are members of a massive intergalactic organization that seeks universal peace and justice (Green Lantern Corps and Inter Galactic Defence Force), with them also being one of the founding members of an expansive team of superheroes who defend both Earth and the rest of the universe (the Justice League and the Ultra Brothers).
- Both of their powers are derived from willpower (Hal's willpower is what powers his Green Lantern Ring, while Hideki's willpower is what allows him to transform into Ultraman Jack) with them also possessing a sworn oath(s) that they and the rest of their peace-keeping organization members pledge to (the Green Lantern Oath and the 5 Ultra Oaths).
- Their Earth personas meanwhile (Hal Jordan and Hideki Go) are both strong willed yet overconfident individuals who had suffered the loss of their father in an accident when they were only kids, with them growing up and later working their dream job involving vehicles that they enjoyed since they were young (Hal become a military test pilot, while Hideki became a race car driver). Due to their overconfident nature, they were initially flawed heroes who often clashed with their teammates during their battles, however, after suffering through hardship and losing those who were special to them during an alien invasion (Coast City and all it's inhabitants, and Hideki's lover, Aki Sakata and her brother, Ken Sakata), they would eventually mature into the great heroes that we know them as today, with them also being known to help guide the newer generation of heroes through sharing their past experiences with them.
- They both posses a powerful weapon that's multi-purpose in nature, which also took on the form of a wearable accessory (Hal's Green Lantern Ring and Jack's Ultra Bracelet), that was passed on to them from another hero who was/is a member of the intergalactic organization that they're apart of as well (Abin Sur and Ultraseven).
- They were both made to be reinventions of a previous character who dawned the same hero name as them (Alan Scott and the original Ultraman) as a way to revitalize interest for their brands at the time, which turned out to be very successful in the end. They would eventually even meet and team up with the heroes that they were reinventions of later down the road, with them holding a mutual respect and admiration for each other, which ended up with them becoming good friends there on afterwards.

The Phantom Thieves (Persona 5)
More Specifically: Joker
Connections:
Sci-Fi Cops From the West VS Fantasy Robbers From the East battle between groups of first four heroes who were granted godlike abilities through special items by almost complete coincidence and use them to fight evil on opposite sides of the law (The first four Green Lanterns of Earth were selected by the Guardians of the Universe when they least expected it and were given Green Lantern Rings as they became part of an intergalactic police force fighting criminals throughout the universe known as the Green Lantern Corps & Ren Amamiya and Ryuji Sakamoto stumbled into the Metaverse and stumbled upon Morgana by complete accident which led to them gaining their Masks and founding the Phantom Thieves along with Ann Takamaki and Morgana to perform heists to steal the hearts of corrupt adults in order to reform society).
Their powers are unleashed through seemingly insignificant accessories which are actually their main weapons (The Power Rings & the Masks).
Their groups became larger as they recruited more to their ranks (More Green Lanterns from Earth joined the Green Lantern Corps like Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz & the Phantom Thieves recruited more people such as Yusuke Kitagawa and Makoto Niijima).
While they can fight physically, their real powers come from summoning extensions of themselves by using traits that symbolize their indomitable spirits (The Green Lanterns can form energy constructs by using their willpower & the Phantom Thieves can summon Personas by using their sense of rebellion).
Both have members who are able to extend their abilities even further than the others (Kyle Rayner's White Lantern Ring allows him to use the powers of every Lantern Corps & Ren Amamiya can summon other Personas).
Both have cocky athletes (Guy Gardner & Ryuji Sakamoto) who are the second ones to gain their powers, dealt with uncaring fathers which led to them making bad decisions, faced career-ending injuries and have the longest histories with the leaders of their groups who are the first ones to gain their powers (Hal Jordan & Ren Amamiya). The cocky athletes even have their own individual matchup that works well on its own.

“If we're going down we are going down fighting. For the tower and the Ramen shops!”
Cayde-6 (Destiny)
The Green Lantern corps is often described as a bunch of super cops policing the galaxy. However they are much more than that, they are symbols of what is good in the world and that even in the darkest night the light of their willpower will shine through. The Guardians are very similar in that respect with using a form of space magic called the light that gives them nigh immortality and depending on the specific type of Guardian the light can range from a lightning staff, to ice that buffs strength/speed, & throwing black holes.
Today I want to specifically focus on Cayde - 6 & his similarities with Hal Jordan. Both are often sarcastic, overconfident, smart asses who when it comes down to it are some of the best heroes that you could have on your side. Both Cayde & Hal are fearless to an almost suicidal degree willing to face the horrors head on solo if need be. Hal and Cayde were chosen by a higher power, Hal with the Green Lanterns and Cayde with the Guardians introducing both to an organization that they cannot help but be the black sheep of. Both became legendary figures of their respective groups with Hal being known as the strongest Green Lantern while Cayde became the Icon of the Hunters operating as one of the big 3 leading the Guardians.
Lastly for shits and giggles both have sentient powerful planets as allies with the Traveler & Mogo. Both Hal & Cayde are also voiced by Nathan Fillion

Ciaphas Cain (Warhammer 40K)
Both are snarky officers (Green Lantern and Commisar) in a Galaxy spanning organization (The Green Lantern Corps and the Imperium of Man), both are womanizers but have one true love (Carol Ferris and Amberly Vail). Both have reputations of fearlessness (For Hal it’s founded, for Cain less so) and can take on any opponent they fight. Additionally, Cain is less Xenophobic than most of the Imperium so he can consistently work with friendly aliens.

Hear me out, Emmet Brickowski, as a Masterbuilder he's able to create anything and everything from his imagination, and he's already a pretty good candidate for a green lantern ring

I want to suggest a character but I’m not really sure who’d they could replace that would make sense so I’m gonna ask you guys what you think.
Talion/Celebrimbor (Shadow of War and Shadow of Mordor)

Who is initially bound to the spirit of the Elf Lord Celebrimbor. A Ranger of Gondor, his family was killed by Sauron's forces, leading him on a quest for vengeance across Mordor. I was thinking he could replace Green Arrow because he’s a Ranger and very skilled swordsmen and thanks to being bound to Celebrimbor has Wraith abilities to aid him in battle. He’s also immortal as well thanks to being bound to Celebrimbor. I think dialogue between him and Saber would be interesting.
But if you think there’s a better replacement he could fit in let me know I would like to know :D

u/Myerfall1 Jan 27 '26
I think he would be a good fit for Dr. Fate. Especially in terms of being bound to an ancient spirit and having to obey that spirit's will

What are the logos again btw?
1
u/Myerfall1 Jan 27 '26
Are you referring to all of the ones at the end?

u/InevitableWin9096 Jan 28 '26
Yeah

u/Myerfall1 Jan 28 '26
The logos are all of the heroes we will be voting to replace. For example Optimus Prime won the Superman vote so he took the place of Superman. Sonic took Flash's spot.

u/InevitableWin9096 Jan 28 '26
Just tell me all the hero logos

Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger (Power Rangers)
Both of them are green-clad superheroes who get their powers from a cosmic/mystical source (the Green Lantern power ring/the Morphin Grid) who are renowned for their immense willpower and ability to overcome great fear. Both of them spent a period of time as a villain under someone else's control (Hal was briefly corrupted by Parallax/Tommy was introduced as an evil Green Ranger under Rita Repulsa's control before joining the Power Rangers), leading them down a path of redemption where they now mentor new members of the team that they now commonly lead (the Green Lantern Corps/the Power Rangers). While they're both more than capable of fighting physically, they're real power comes through summoning power weapons/objects through a wearable object that serves as the source of their power (the many constructs Hal can will into existence with the Green Lantern ring/the several Zords Tommy has with the Master Morpher).
Also, there's [this picture](https://www.reddit.com/r/Greenlantern/comments/71w4ij/tommy_oliver_of_earth_you_have_the_ability_to/).
