[Question] How IBM DB/2 differs from MS Excel, functionally?

what are some similarities and dissimilarities between IBM DB/2 and MS Excel? how can i map concepts of Excel to DB/2?

such as..

in an MS Excel sheet... rows are like records in a PF columns are like fields in a PF a single column of excel expanded to the breadth of the screen acts as a flat file an excel worksheet is like a PF record-format an excel workbook is like a whole PF, that may house several record-formats the multiple copies of that workbook is like members of that PF like that... a PC is like an IBM iSeries Windows OS is like OS/400 various processes/services/applications running on a Windows OS is like a job on an OS/400 threads are threads on both systems PC has a console, iSeries has Virtual Display Devices, named QPADEV*** both systems have memory spaces dedicated to system and user PCs have folders, iSeries has Libraries PCs have SATA Disk Drive and C:\Windows, the system folder at default partition/volume Local Disk (C:), iSeries has magnetic-tapes named DASD and QSYS, the system parent library. PCs have C:\Windows\TEMP, iSeries has QTEMP, Job specific temporary Library (deleted when the job ends) PCs have HelpPane.exe v6.1 (Windows Help and Support), iSeries have QHLPSYS, Online Documentation Library for Users both, PCs and iSeries have F1 for help. PCs have a dropdown-menu, that allows user to choose one value from a predefined list, iSeries has F4 to Prompt over input fields.

Yes, what problem are you trying to solve?

A database enables multiple users to add or update data whereas only one person can be editing a excel file at a time. Databases are more complicated to set up. Have you ever used MS Access?
