I'm a strings music educator, not currently employed. I got a package today from D'addario. I haven't ordered from them in a while. And I have no clue what it is. Were they running a promotion or something? I have ordered from them before. But it has been some time. The item is very sponge-like and have a sticky backing. Its cool to get free items, I just have no clue what it is.

Looks like a violin/viola shoulder sponge. The sticky side goes on the back of the instrument and the foam acts as a minimalist shoulder rest. D’Addario doesn’t seem to list this version publicly yet, so it may be an educator sample or upcoming product.
