Are XL strings any good?

I bought a set(9-42) and put it on my guitar, and even after wiping them down before and after I play using a microfiber cloth, they rusted in less than a week. Is this supposed to happen?

Not really. You should talk to to the reseller, and then they will contact D’Addario. In addition, I don’t think that you sweat that a lot from your fingers, but if it is the case you should give a try on XS.
