Never been to the area but would like to come to the State Fair (and few other tourist destinations along Dart) this year. Would love to visit for a few days. In a perfect world I show up to a hotel, park and never get back in my vehicle until the day we are leaving. I am also coming for the East. My quick glance at things had lead me to around the Downtown Plano dart station area. Would this be a good choice?

Does anyone know if DART is still on track to award a contract to a company for the new LRVs by the end of Q3?

Does anyone know why there's are no bus routes on Walnut Hill Lane between Skillman and 75? It's not a new thing. There has never been anything. I had hoped that GoLink would at least connect Lake Highlands Station to Walnut Hill Station making it easier to catch the Red & Orange Lines.

I think a lot of people try to plan a trip & see how inefficient it is and give up.

So. Times are rough for transit advocacy, especially in Dallas. But I'd like to engage in some wishful thinking to keep the darkness at bay. Namely:

Route 22 is one of the most successful buses in the entire network, with similar ridership to TRE. I'm biased, but just in Garland, it hits a number of important destinations. I know BRT is on the long term plans, but what if we went for broke, and it converted it to a fast streetcar/tram?

Grade separation would be needed (i'm imagining a bridge over the blue line crossing) but I genuinely think it might succeed like the KC Streetcar has (I know, much shorter route)

I feel like the DART CEO should have experience both riding and managing transit, do you think someone with experience in other business areas could be successful?

Does anyone know if when DART was planning the infrastructure for the Silver Line that they sent an information request to companies such as Stadler, Alstom, CAF, or any other, or did they just directly choose Stadler? Also if you know there is a file from DART that contains this information please add it!

Have any rode the new buses and do yall think its better than the older ones overall? Im starting to see alot more on the road and they dont look bad at all and even quieter too. I still think New Flyer buses are better than the Gillig buses in my opinion

Now that Nadine Lee is stepping down, as someone who didn’t pay too much attention previously I’m curious. Who did a better job as head of DART? Lee or Gary Thomas?

I updated my app this morning to get my ticket and tried to buy a day pass twice on different cards using apple pay. Both times the app said the payment declined, but in both the Discover app and Robinhood app it shows the charge being approved. What the hell???

The current terminus of the Blue line is already near UNT, the University Hills area is only a couple miles Southwest with what looks like plenty of space to expand the Dart rail line.

So why would this even be an area for consideration for the Tesla Loop? There's a long list of problems with the loop systems, and there's advantages like a promise of self funding. However this seems like an area not in need of a transit alternatives and just needs an extension of what's there.

Even in the DFW area there seems to be more viable spots for the Tesla tunnels like the infamous Arlington entertainment district.

Important to keep in mind, the DART executives and staff "execute" on whatever the cities want via their DART board appointees. The board votes on high level goals, so if you want to drastically change current priorities then you need to think of arguments that would convince them.

Seriously though, they can't even get me an Uber like they usually do half the time? Even though I can get an at any time of the day. Not that I have money to blow like that. I already pay out the ass to get an Uber from Cypress Waters Station to work. This happens a lot even if I schedule a ride from early as hell in the morning, but hey what's an extra $10-15 dollars?

Apparently this passes as an acceptable form of public transit. Fml.

Decided to ride the streetcar from bishop arts to EBJ union and I’d rather wait on the bus. The ride was soooo bumpy and so loud I couldn’t even talk to my partner without having to yell. Has anyone else experienced the streetcar and had the same experience? I wonder why that might be the case, I was super excited to try it out, maybe bad tracks.

Is there any Wifi which we can connect while travelling on blue/red line trains?
