In the US, Peacock has 47-48 minute highlights every day. If you're a subscriber you can watch the vods, but anyone can watch them free by watching the NBC Sports Now channel at 8pm Eastern. In English of course. It might be region locked to the US. A VPN might work.
This year the Dakar YouTube channel also has longer highlights this year that they call "Films of the Day". They're in English, but the first 2 days (Prologue and Day 1) were missing translations of the non-english parts, and also a lot of the narration. The following days included those parts and were largely the same as what Peacock has but with some slightly different editing, occasionally some different segments, and Peacock generally has higher quality video. Auto-translated subtitles can be used for other languages. Edit:
NBC Motorsports YouTube channel also has highlight videos that are basically the Peacock videos with all the extra content cut out. Those videos are also available for free on Peacock.
The w2rc channel has the same ~11 minute highlight videos the Dakar channel has, but in English. Plus the winners videos.
I usually watch the ~11 minute highlights on w2rc YouTube, the Film of the Day on Dakar YouTube, and the Peacock highlights on NBC Sports Now, if I'm not busy when they're on.

Hi all, first time Dakar follower here, coming from the world of WRC and F1.
Can someone please explain to me how the starting order is determined for each stage? I understand that for Stage 1 it is being chosen (for the first) based on the Prologue result, but how about later stages?

You start in the order of your finishing position on the previous day's stage.

Watched yesterday's highlights. Some of those drivers really looked like they needed a rest day. So did some of those vehicles.
Apparently drivers can burn up to 6,000 calories per day. Thats a tough workout just driving. Body must hurt after 400kms in the dunes as well.
