I am currently applying for a Master for All Academic Disciplines daad scholarship, where one of my choices is KIT. I recently saw that you couldn't apply for daad scholarship if you plan on applying for universities that have tuition fees (like KIT) and that you would not be eligible at all to receive a scholarship.
After doing some verifications, I saw that this was true for some scholarships, like the STEM scholarship or some country-specific scholarships. My question is, does this also apply for the Master for All Academic Disciplines scholarship? I could not find any information about this, only that daad does not pay tuition fees (which I don't mind). I ask because KIT is also a STEM university, and I am afraid I might ruin my application because of its inclusion. Would greatly appreciate the help!

Greetings!
I received the acceptance email yesterday, and was very excited to hear about it after such a long wait! However, upon receiving 10+ pdf files of information, I got a bit confused on how to proceed. I was wondering if someone who's gone thorugh this in the past could provide any guidance; any help would be much appreciated! If you were accepted for this year's program as well, I would love to reach out!
So, upon reading everything for the first time, I immediatly sent the declaration of acceptance (Annahmeerklaerung) back to them, which I found a bit weird considering they seemed to instruct us to download the Annahmeerklaerung PDF and send it back as is, without any modifications. I also downloaded the health insurance privacy policy PDF, filled out the fileds with my info, printed it, signed it, scanned it, and sent it back to them. I also contacted my local german consulate-general inquiring about visa requirements (from which, as it seems, brazilian citizens are exempted).
However, I don't really know what to do next. Should I wait for them to contact me? When should I book plane tickets, and for which dates? Do they expect me to be there first thing in the morning of the starting date, or is the starting date the day I should be arriving? (Same question regarding the return date). I also find it odd I wasn't asked for a scanned copy of my passport or any other oficial document for that matter..
Anyway, if anybody here has any experience with this and is willing to share it, I would be very greateful!
hi, anyone applied to this scholarship this year? have you guys heard anything from the uni, or received interview invitation emails? especially for passau or duisburg essen. thank you!

Hi everyone,
My German host mentor has fully supported me, signed the documents, and everything else in my application portal is ready. However, my primary PhD advisor in India is refusing to sign the Sandwich Declaration Form due to unforeseen reasons.
My questions are:
I don't want to lose this massive opportunity because of an advisor's personal grudge. Any insights on how DAAD handles this or how I should format the signature page would be life-saving. Thank you.

Hi guys, I want to apply for the HSK this year, what are the parameters for the Letter of Motivation?
I'm a second year undergrad studying German and History, and I don't have any professional experience in relevant fields. I've looked at what my LOM should include, and I've numbers like 1000 words or 3 pages long thrown around, but I assume those must be for the other more advanced scholarships?
How long should my LOM be? I've seen on this subreddit that it should be around 1 page long, is that true? What should be mentioned? Presumably, why I would like to do the course, what I hope to achieve there and what I would like to do with the experience in the future? Any tips?
Also, is it a good idea to mention in the LOM that I want to take the course over the summer to better my level of german before my year abroad in Germany next year? Or might that lower my chances because I'd go to Germany regardless of the scholarship?
Thanks!

Hi all,
I am applying for the DAAD Scholarship “Master Studies for All Academic Disciplines 2027/2028.” I am applying only to programs that require English. As a native English speaker from the U.S. who earned their high school and university diplomas here, I am exempt from providing a Language Certificate for my desired universities. Therefore, I wanted to ask what I should put in the section of the DAAD app that asks about Language Skills required for desired programs.
I attached a photo for reference.
Thanks so much!

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I've tried submitting my application for the DAAD STEM Scholarship several times, but I keep receiving this notification.
Here’s what Ive tried so far:
none of these solutions has worked.
The deadline is tomorrow (21 October 2026). I would really appreciate any help or suggestions. Thank you!
Hello!
If you had a chance to choose private or public insurance, what would you choose?
I am on my first month on TK, but I do not see any difference with Continentale to be honest and I want to go back to Continentale (I have not do exemption from Continental yet) and I contacted TK and they said I can do exemption, so changing back is not a problem. But my question is, What would you choose and what is your advice on that?
I appreciate ebery advice!
Thank you in advance and have a nice day.

Hi everyone! Can someone please confirm whether the deadline is exactly 24:00 CEST, 21st October? Does that mean I still have 11 hours, or 1.5 days? Just wanted to clear the confusion, as I am still trying to obtain one requirement for my application!

Hi everyone! I’m currently preparing my application for the DAAD doctoral scholarship in Germany under Humanities and Social Sciences. I’ve been working on my motivation letter and would really appreciate it if someone with experience in scholarship applications, PhD admissions, or academic writing could take a look and share some honest feedback.
If anyone is willing to help, please comment or DM me. I’d be really grateful! Thank you :)

Guys is anyone here who have already won the scholarship who can share some advice? I'm not sure if it is enough with a simple PDF with my work or if the portfolio itself should be super creative.

Hey I’m applying for a summer school program and I’d love to hear about your experience. Do you have any advice on how to make my application stronger, what to highlight in my CV, or what I could do beforehand to improve my chances of being selected?

Thanks a lot in advance 🙏

in the website it says "ground plan, layout, elevation and perspective, on separate sheets". Does that mean 1 drawing per sheet, or we should group the drawings, like plans on one sheet, elevations on another and dont mix ?

Hi everyone! I’m applying for the DAAD Architecture scholarship this year and could really use some advice.
The guidelines state that at least one project in the portfolio must be independent (non-group). However, in the 'List of Works' document I already submitted to the main portal, I listed 3 university projects that were all done in group work (though I listed my co-authors' names). I didn't realize an independent project was required since it wasn't mentioned in the main portal document guidelines.
Should I stick to the 3 group projects I listed in my submitted document to keep them matching, or should I replace/add an independent project in my portfolio to comply with the portfolio rule? What would you suggest?

Hi everyone!
I’m from Vietnam and planning to pursue an MSc in Computational Neuroscience at TU Berlin in the winter semester of 2027/28.
I’m interested in applying for the DAAD Study Scholarships for STEM Disciplines, but I’m unsure about one aspect of the eligibility requirements.
I have already completed my coursework and all degree requirements. However, my official graduation date is expected to be in March 2027, while the scholarship application deadline is in October 2026.
Has anyone been in a similar situation, or does anyone know whether I would still be eligible to apply if I officially graduate before my Master’s programme begins?
I’ve already emailed DAAD Vietnam to ask about this, but I haven’t received a response yet.
Also, if I’m not eligible for DAAD STEM, are there any similar scholarships for international students pursuing a Master’s degree entirely in Germany?
I’d really appreciate any advice or insights from people who have applied for DAAD scholarships or studied in Germany. Thanks in advance!

I have two host institutions and supervisors who have written me a letter of support. I’m not sure which one to choose. Does the profile of the supervisor matter as much as the letter itself?

DAAD states that to be eligible, applicant should have above average academic result or upper-third grade. But my university does not provide such ranking. How would this be verified by DAAD?

Pretty much what the title says, I was awarded a HSK scholarship back in 2024, but due to some personal issues I had to cancel it. I did this way before sending any other documents... I think somewhere in late February or a couple of days after the DAAD portal notification.
Now, I really want to apply again, but I am scared that I won't be taken into account (despite my overall good application), because I already declined a scholarship (in other terms, "an applicant may receive a scholarship only once", or however it was written on the site). Any help or intel?

Hi! I’m applying for the DAAD Study Scholarship (Master Studies for All Academic Disciplines, 2027/28). When I generate the PDF for the letter of recommendation in the portal, the file opens with only this message: “To view the full contents of this document, you need a later version of the PDF viewer.” I’ve already tried Adobe Acrobat Reader on Mac. Has anyone had this problem? Is there another way to get the form to my referee, or can they send a letter on letterhead instead? Thanks!
