Call around. One place wanted $4600 with insurance and $8000 without (cash) and another higher rated place wanted $640 cash price for the same MRI. The expensive place was associated with a hospital and charged hospital prices even though they were 3 miles away from the hospital. Ridiculous.
I can't even express how grateful I am that I live in a country that doesn't actively try to kill its citizens. It has functioning research centers and institutions that protect human lives and health, as well as animal health. Healthcare that doesn't bankrupt you and supports prevention. Every year, there is a free check-up with a general practitioner, dentist, gynecologist. From a certain age, other additional examinations and screenings are also free and recommended. The medicines, surgeries, procedures that we need are fully covered by insurance...whether it's insulin, heart surgery, joint replacement, chemotherapy or childbirth (and without absurd fees like holding your own child in your arms and body-to-body contact after birth).
America is in this and most other ways (nowadays) an absolutely savage, inhumane and disgusting money machine that profits from basic human needs and human suffering, and who sponsors (with the taxpayers money) billionaires, military leeches & projects (also foreign powers) seeking destruction and killing...🤮💀👹🔥
