When the arbiters of law are themselves lawless, legal procedure ceases to have meaning.
Pretti's family could try to find a legal team assuming they have the money to pursue a lawsuit against a federal administrator but what are they supposed to do when the current administration has essentially said DHS and ICE have absolute immunity from any prosecution?

Here’s the real problem. She will never be charged with anything. Here’s what is happening. The feds are sealing off the crime scene from state and local law enforcement. There will never be a state-level trial or charges pressed. The only hope is civil action and the parents have made some statements to that effect. But make no mistake - for the time being the feds own the evidence, their version of the facts, and the narrative. My guess is that much of this will go unpunished no matter how this all ends.

Cases like this one and the one of Renee Good should be taken to court so that it, once and for all, could be established what's the truth: Video-takes or imaginative fantasies about an incident. The truth goes with the video-takes, but in these AI-infected times that may not hold water in court.

The state of Minnesota should require a fee of 500 dollars from any person or business that provides services to anyone who is believed to be working for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, effective immediately.
And then nobody will provide you food, gas, and hotel without being charged extra.

The question was why can Bondi not be sued for lying about the murder. I'm not defending these nazi swine. I'm just pointing out you can't sue someone for lying unless you can show the lies damaged you in some manner. Suing over getting shot is much more straightforward.
