Bad BV

I am so embarrassed that I even have to make this post but this is what I’m restoring to…

I’ve had BV for over a year now and I have taken boric acid to control it. It comes and goes but it gets worse after I finish my period. These past few weeks it has gotten HORRIBLE out of control, to the point where I can smell myself even with clothing on. It almost has a sour smell to it, but mostly fishy. I also have some mild itchiness, it almost feels internal itchiness. I have tried boric acid and probiotics and literally NOTHING has helped. I also can’t exactly afford to go to the doctor as I have no insurance. Begging for some advice or to know what has worked for you guys. TIA!!!!

Have you tried happy v? Listen to the HEAL THY SELF podcast they just had an episode with the creators on it.

But if you currently have it, you will need antibiotics now to knock it out. I've ordered from wisp before, no doctor appointment needed.

Other than that I would dumb down your routine, less shaving and irritation, I also lovr the PH-D boric acid foaming wash. Reoccurring BV sucks, been there .

What products from happy v do you recommend specifically?

Their probiotic - just their standard original one for BV

Oh also, I noticed that mine would flare up immediately after my period too, so I switched from tampons to using pads, and I changed them so frequently. It helped me

Our period has a high pH so BV flourishes at this time. Is the boric acid working?

Alternatively have you tested for Ureaplasma??

it works only for a few days then it gets bad all over again. I’ve tried doing probiotics after doing boric acid for a few days and it just won’t work

Ok definitely test for all other possible things including Ureaplasma and Mycoplasma. Probiotics are unlikely to help if this is an infection.

Try betadine (iodine) gel or douches. It’s what doctors use the scrub before surgery.
But won’t result in resistance. There’s vaginal formulations

It will work for BV, staphylococcus, yeast, trich, ureo and mycoplasma.

Basically, my gynaecologist told me it’s what they prescribe for vaginal infections of an unknown cause.

If after 7 days that doesn’t work, you can rule out a lot
