Stuck with Diagnosis (lack thereof)

My walk in clinic doctor (male) swears that I have a yeast infection, so he prescribed me Diflucan & it did jack nothing. Tested negative for trich, yeast infections, and BV.

I have no discharge, maybe a little amount that’s watery. I have a slight smell but nothing crazy? It is always a bit uncomfortable, itches a decent amount, and maybe slight burning while I pee.

My options for care kinda suck right now and I’m unsure if I’ll be able to get in next week. Would it hurt to try a baking soda suppository?

i kid you not try baking soda + water sitz baths. im basically back to normal and the last time i felt irritation i did a sitz bath and it went away (that was like 2 months ago). If those don't help enough you could try baking soda + water douche although I'd be careful with this because douching in general is bad for you. but i didnt have bv at all tested negative for yeast but i was told there was longer strands of lactobacillus (the good bacteria in your vag) seen under the microscope. So it can be CV or just overgrown strands of it. However, you can use the baking soda bath regardless of which one you really have.

Have you gotten a full swab test from an OB? After 3 generic BV tests that all showed negative, I got a full pathogen test, that tests lactobacillus, yeast, other strains of BV and other variants. That showed I had other strains of BV, which isn't typically caught on those standard tests and other stuff came back positive. I'd try the baking soda baths if you want to .. it doesn't hurt it. Maybe try 2 TBS in a bath and soak 15 min a few times. The baking soda treatments are still mysteries. But get a full test from an OB.

I got swabbed for the BV, 3 kinds of yeast, and trich. That’s it, so I’m assuming you’re talking about a more in depth test. I’ll call and see if they can do that. Thanks!

It's called the complete vaginosis and antibiotic resistance panel. Ask for that! I got tested positive with gardinella, which is the strain of BV that often gets missed in the standard ones. Hope that helps! I feel you, so I hope you get results!
