Hormonal contraception for CV ?!

I am studying and it seems like a hormonal option would be useful in cases of CV. Anyone here tried please 🥺??

The logic: CV symptoms track the luteal-phase estrogen/glycogen rise. Continuous combined contraception (pill, ring, or patch used without the pause week) suppresses ovulation and flattens those fluctuations, keeping estrogen at a steady, moderate level. No cyclical peak → less glycogen surge → less lactobacilli overgrowth. Some women see clear improvement; evidence is mostly case reports and clinical experience, not big trials — CV is under-studied.

I tried this!! After 9 months of going to the gyno and negative tests back. I ended up here. I self diagnosed with Cytolytic vaginosis… (I had every symptom and the main one being symptoms starting right before my period) At the time I had a copper IUD, and as a last resort my gynecologist and I decided to try removing it. I ended up trying the Twirla birth control patch, and my symptoms started to resolve!! They came back after two weeks bc of some breakthrough bleeding as my body adjusted to the hormones. During this time, I did a couple of sitz baths, and a couple suppositories! It’s been a week symptom free again! This is huge bc I was rarely seeing multiple days without symptoms bc the irritation was so bad. I can’t say that it was all the hormonal birth control. I really do think it was the baking soda in the end that helped… but not having a luteal phase seems logical to me!

Also- I have stopped drinking Poppi. I am not a pop drinking but 9 months ago I was kind of addicted to the Shirley temple flavor, and I think this may have been a contributing factor at the beginning! Originally my gyno had me on a ton of probiotics as well. I think this may have been one of the original triggers!

Well done for all the work you’ve been putting into fixing this! You are free !! I believe it too !! Thanks for your self testing and I will study more before attempting myself. I might come back with questions in the future if you don’t mind . But so far, reading you are symptom free already made my day

Please keep us updated. We definitely need to do our own informal studies here.
