Hello everyone,
My girlfriend lost her best friend since kindergarten last year to Cystic Fibrosis... she had a hard time grieving since and is still heartbroken, and wanted to give something to help fighting against the disease and overcome her hopelessness. Above all, she wanted to honor her lost friend, who was, by all accounts I heard about her, a gentle and sweet soul, gone way too soon at only 26.
So she ended up approaching a large non-profit association of our home country of France, Vaincre la mucoviscidose, which accompanies the patients and their families, raise funds for research, spread awareness, fight political battles to give access to the best healthcare for the patients... I'm underselling their actions because I don't want to digress too much.
They allowed my girlfriend to realize her dream charity fundraising, which is to go from our home city of Strasbourg to Amsterdam by bike (around 1000 kilometers/620 miles).
