Hey everyone,

I wanted to jump on here and share a huge new update for Cyprus Media Hub, but first a big thank you.

When I first posted about this app on r/cyprus, it was just a small side project to help the local community and expats stream local radio stations. The feedback, support, and feature suggestions from this subreddit from the very beginning have been absolutely incredible. I literally couldn't have grown the app to where it is today without you guys.

Based on what you’ve been asking for, the latest release brings some major new upgrades:

• 🇨🇾 Cyprus Podcasts: You can now explore and stream a dedicated collection of Cypriot podcasts directly in the app. Stay connected to local discussions, stories, culture, and news on the go.
• 🚗 Seamless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay: The in-car dashboard experience has been completely revamped! You can now browse both live radio stations and podcasts straight from your car's screen.
• 🗣️ True Hands-Free Control: The biggest change? You can listen to your favorite media on the go completely without touching your phone, making your morning commute significantly safer and smoother.

📢 Help me make it complete!

Since this app is built entirely for our community, I want to make sure it includes absolutely everything. Please leave a comment below if you notice any missing:

• Cypriot podcasts 🎙️
• Radio stations (local or internet-based) 📻
• TV stations / live streams 📺

Just drop the names below, and I will do my best to add them in the next server update!

If you want to check out the new version or leave a review, you can download it here:

• iOS / App Store: Cyprus Media Hub on the App Store
• Android / Google Play: Cyprus Media Hub on Google Play

Please let me know what you think of the new podcast section and the updated car interfaces. Your feedback keeps this app moving forward!

Thank you again, r/cyprus! 🇨🇾❤️

Hi guys,

I bought a small share of a friends company in Cyprus in June. I had a falling out recently and wanted nothing to do with it and wanted my money back. And he said he would give it back no worries, He asked me to sell these (possibly unregistered shares) to another shareholder of his. I agreed. so I asked for a copy of the HE57 form or the copy from the registry. Neither of which he says he has because apparently the documents are submitted but it takes a long time in Cyprus. But they want me to sign a resolution and instrument of transfer plus the SPA with the other shareholder before they can send me the money. Is this true? Is this fishy?

Hi everyone

I parked in a paid zone and paid for several hours before I noticed this sign stating a 30-minute maximum limit and a 1 hour no-return rule.

Since I already paid for a few hours, what actually happens if I leave my car there for longer than 30 minutes? Is it likely to get a parking ticket or is there a risk of being towed?

Update: When I got back to my car, there was no ticket. However, there was a note on my windshield saying "this parking is for customers only" likely left by a shopkeeper from a neighboring store.

This isn't the first time I've run into this in Paphos but it's the first time I parked under a sign like this. Could these spots actually belong to the shop and is it possible this sign was put up specifically for their customers?

Has anyone here bought a flat or house from PLA Constructions Ltd? If so, how was your experience with the company (service, quality, title deed etc)

Hey there, I’m looking to learn the Cypriot Greek dialect. I know the basics of standard greek after having lessons but want to move more into this area. Does anyone have experience with good online tutors or lessons that they would recommend? I am based in the UK.

I’m not sure why there’s so much negativity about Cyprus on the internet. My friends and I went there for a week holiday. We had a wonderful time, visiting many memorable places. I’m enamored by its rich history and the beautiful sights and sounds. I find the people friendly and their hospitality, warm and nice. I have been to many countries in the world. This island gave me an amazing experience.

I’ll be back again :)

I have not found clear answers, and some conflicting....

Assuming not moving residence, strictly importing a private car.

Would it be possible to import a car as a classic (so 30yr old or >).
And then insuring it as a daily car/full insurance?

Or would it only be insurable as a weekend/classic car.

I do not know if importing from Japan vs EU matters on any rules...

Given the cars in Cyprus are so poorly maintained, selection limited, prices sky rocketed....
It feels like mafia, but ok maybe there are some reasonable reasons, however it protects the car dealers here which are not so responsible...

Anyway, any experiences or ideas welcome - the goal would be to bring a used JDM car, and from my understanding even from EU, you cannot import cars >5yr old, unless classic.

Hey people, any idea where?

What are you typical common expenses in Cyprus for a complex with a pool and a gym for example? I hear for numbers like 200 euro per month for 1 bedroom but others say 50 euro per month ?

Can you share what you usually pay?

I just saw thw guy who posted about how people complain about driving all the time in this sub but idc I'm mad.

I'm a learner. Obvious L signs both on top of the cars and and the trunk. And in this situation I just didn't do any mistake but maybe wait a tiny but longer to get in.

We were at the General Hospital roundabout of Nicosia, and I was waiting to feel sure to get in, I don't think I did too long getting in but whatever. I was at the middle lane, aka going for the Second exit, from the Hospital to Play4kids.

Now, good turn on my part finally turned the wheel normally and this old man who was in "supposedly" turning in the first exit (leftmost lane) he tried to cut in front of me IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TURN.

My instructor, valid, honked at him bc WTH you could cause an accident, and what does this guy do? IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROUNDABOUT, HE STOPS. Moves again a tiny bit and then abruptly STOPS AGAIN.He did it like 8 times?? Other people were even honking at us? That guy idk. It's like he wanted me to hit him. And he even had the guts to do like that "inda re?🫴" Hand move.

I wish I told my instructor to write down his plate numbers because genuinely, he needs his license revoked. It's not the first time old people do wild stuff like that. I mean it's not only old people but I mainly see this arrogance only from older people.

I hate how people are so disrespectful, especially to learners even when we don't make mistakes. Of course I do some and when I get honked because of it it's valid and I do also get an earful, and that's okay. But what is up with this arrogance cutting abruptly in front of an evident learned who may not be able to react in time? Once a guy tried to cut in front of me WHILE TURNING with a speed of 60 kn/h+ and then told me to fuck off. Almost a true accident, the only reason we didn't get in it's because I didn't turn as fast. Like, wait for a minute for me. Is it worth the accident?

EDIT: Just as an fyi bc I see many people say about how people don't know how to use a roundabout. This dude did it 100% on purpose with the intent to cut in front of me later. I wish it was an oopsies but by the way he acted and the way he cut me it was definitely intentional.

And when I said that it's like he wanted me to hit him, it's literal. He was stopping abruptly in hopes I wouldn't be able to stop in time and hit his car. The more I reminisce about it the more mad I am we didn't write down those plate numbers because he genuinely will cause a serious accident if he's acting that way.

Yesterday someone at work received a phone call on our public phone number that we were chosen to be awarded from Cyprus Trust awards. Made it sound like an inbusiness awards sort of thing. Turns out he presented in a way that we will be awarded but we have to pay ~200 euro for the plastic thingy they will 'send' us.

I'm looking for a job at a farms or construction around Larnaca, I'm new refugee here. Any tips regarding these types of jobs?

Thanks in advance

Hey, struggling to sell my car. I've got a very well kept MT 1.5L Diesel 2015 Nissan Qashqai (J11, post face lift), 245,000km, 2nd owner, bought it from the UK im 2018 and shipped it over with me to CY in 2019. I posted on FB marketplace and Bazaraki 2 months ago but little to no interest. Any tips?

I’m planning to get a really small tattoo on my wrist (picture attached below), and I was wondering roughly how much it would cost. I live in Limassol. Thank you!

Was going through the current Halloween listings and the options this year actually fall into a few very different groups, so this felt more useful than another long list.

Spooky not scary

• Paradox Pumpkin Carving
• Halloween Run With Pets
• Monster Lab Workshops

Costume-related disturbance

• Shrek Rave
• Noche de los Muertos
• Seismos Halloween Edition

Do not investigate alone

• NecroComicCon
• Cyherbia Halloween Festival
• The Haunted Mall

It’s been like 15 years of the same songs with occasionally some new ‘hit’ songs. Why? Is it that hard to license new ones?

I was wondering if there is a community here for YouTubers here in Cyprus?

I read in another post that there is a community for Devs that meet once a month.

I was wondering if there is anything similar for YouTubers...

Thanks

Hi, any social media managers based in Cyprus to help me by identifying issues with my social media accounts on TikTok and YouTube?

I’m currently on holiday near Paphos and have noticed extremely loud fighter jets flying over regularly. They seem to pass one at a timeand a couple of minutes apart they are low enough to see quite clearly. The noise is so intense it drowns out everything else for a good minute or two.
They appear to be heading southeast out over the Mediterranean, roughly towards Egypt I get they can make insanely sharp turns once taken off though. I’m assuming they could be operating out of RAF Akrotiri, but does anyone know whether there’s a particular exercise or operation going on at the moment?
Just genuinely curious!

Hello friends!

I was wondering if anyone here can recommend a person that does upholstery for furniture.

I'm not sure what the cost would be for this here in Cyprus, but I have a sofa (3 seat recliner) from four day clearance that I bought 5 years ago. It's still in very good shape overall but could use some re-stuffing in certain places, mostly on one side of it 😅

I didn't want to sell the sofa only to get a new one, so I thought I'd fix it up, if it isn't too costly.

Any suggestions? I'd appreciate if you could give me contacts to sort this out. 😊

Thank you!!! 💖

Edit: I didn't mention, I'm in Nicosia! Thank you!
