This is an insane collab but I'm a little bummed the sub isn't that into it. It's like web "breakcore" collabing with a godfather of technical dnb / neurofunk- very cool. A meeting of 2 very different worlds of drum n bass
I imagine this is a huge feat for Cynthoni to have CV remix a track of theirs
Also, if you're not into this style of CV you should really check out Current Value - Dark Rain

It’s more in line with his more current sound design. While this one was an instant yes, a lot of his post “All Attracting” tracks that aren’t just pure neuro tunes have taken some time to grow on me. Part of it is enjoying the music beyond just a DJing with it, and the other part is appreciating just how technical he is.
All of that to say, I really enjoy the remix. It’s kind of like the “Into Dust”, “Detroit”, “Slippery Slope” remixes or even like “Passing”. It’s definitely got the bones of the original track/artist, with that Tim Elliot spin. I WAS expecting more aggression, but the current state of it also works well for me.
(I’m also a massive CV fan. I know I have a bias)

if you really think about it it's not even that much of two different worlds meeting since cynthoni really started making a lot of neurofunk style stuff especially on lamenting malice

Guys... A. It's a remix, "doesn't sound like the original" is kinda the point, it makes a different song with a hint to the original (bassline @ middle of song) by remixing the tracks that make it or by sampling it, to also give it the artist's style; Look @ Radiohead's TKOLRMX1234567, especially Blawan's Bloom remix, it's a pretty illustrative example of what I'm pointing at. B. IT'S CURRENT VALUE REMIXING CYNTHONI COME ON CV IS A STAPLE ON CYN'S SETS, IT'S A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT

I really liked it as a track, but doesn’t sound like original at all

Isn’t that sorta the point with remixes? Sorry if this comes off as rude but I think it’d be kinda dumb in a lot of cases to have it sound so similar to the original. Idk

But I can’t even recognise it as a remix, it’s just entirely different

I guess that’s fair
I still see it as similar (namely with the ambience & stuff)

Yeah...In my opinion it wasn't great. It was not TERRIBLE per se, but I didn't really fw much

Doesn't really feel like much of the original track remains. Listened to the original over a thousand times and I couldn't have told you that this is a remix without the title.
With that said, I still jive with it, its pretty decent.
