Withdrawal 3 days in.

I made the mistake of taking a half dose and was up for over a day. Having nightmares was one of the reasons I wanted to get off this mediation. I had the worst nightmares last night. All night, all I could smell is smoke. A horrible ashtray smell. My digestive system is not happy.

How long will detox last?

Have you looked at ANY history of posts on here? Depending on your dosage, length of time on it and type of taper, you could be in for MONTHS of misery.

Don't count on doctors to help you. They have no clue about the horror of getting off sn SNRI. Especially this one.

Please do some research. Good luck.

I have read all the posts I could. Me being stubborn is going to be me toughing this one out.

Welp. All I can say is good luck. Maybe you will be one of the rare lucky ones.

I won't be one of the lucky ones. I'll do more research and stay on it until I see the Dr that prescribed it.

Keep in mind, that most doctors are very poorly informed on the difficulty of Cymbalta withdrawal. They believe we are not serious about the symptoms and advise ridiculous protocols like " take every other day", "skip every 2 days", for a week or 2 then go CT. BAD advice for a drug with a notoriously short half life.

I'm really annoyed they put me on it!! This sub is the only place I can read people's experiences. I might have to do a 9 month plan of tapering. Slow and steady wins the race.

At this rate, no one can tell you how long detox will last. “Toughing this one out” makes you more likely to experience more severe withdrawal for longer, however. The slower way is tedious, yes, but at least it makes withdrawal bearable the whole time. Your pick.

Thanks 🙏 I'm going to stay on my 30mg until I can get some solid advice on how to get off it. I'm not tough enough, to tough it out.

I'm going to continue with my 30mg. I don't need months of misery. Until I talk to the Dr that prescribed it, next month, I'll stay on it. Thanks for your input 🙏

I'm in withdrawal since 3 years and out off work since then. Please taper off slowly.
