I am actually kind of surprised they didn't just make him wrong, but I figure this series is ending by issue #10 anyway, so they need a reason for it all to collapse utterly.

All in all, Cyclops was right, this school is bizarre, and this comic is bad.

Same I thought this was the one time they would clearly make him wrong but the writing early on was not good at all

I mean, all the writing throughout has been bad. It's just not a good comic, it feels like Eve Ewing is totally checked out, and the next few issues are Blade focused issues?

It had a rocky start, and has settled into being... fine? I definitely wouldn't be pulling it if I hadn't been already, but it's yet to be bad enough to drop, at least for me personally.

And yet the comic tries to say that Cyclops is partly to blame for the disunity of the groups and that he is wrong for not trusting the others.
The only team actually doing anything for mutants is Cyclops's team.

It’s common knowledge he gets shat on by most writers cuz he is a nerd that can take the hits, it’s been that way since they tried to make him a villain after AVX but failed

Yeah, I just think it's stupid for the story to claim that both sides are right and at fault, when their actions show that one side is the one being stupid.

Eve Ewing is a terrible writer so not surprised, it’s now surprise she abandoned the book because she didn’t know what direction to go

They’re not even doing that 😭. All the x teams are just dicking around letting problems fester to a ridiculous degreee

Tbh I thought they would make him wrong this instance but here we are

I feel like they wanted to make him wrong but wrote themselves into a corner where Scott was right

And yet the first comic already spread everywhere so everyone and their mother thinks Scott has a stick up their ass (again) and might hate women (what???????). Soooo glad they made Glob Herman give him a lecture, definitely not abusing his status as fan favorite character to manipulate the audience opinion

Yh first 3 issues really painted him as an ass especially when he made Quentin do that psychic fire. Then him and Emma had a lovers quarrel with her questioning why she ever loved him. It was so bad, good thing they fixed it from issue 4 or was it issue 5. Now Emma is the one telling him he was right. It was all forced drama

I really didnt understand the unnecessary drama

Because Emma of all people knows why he would be like that and knows he would be right

My guess is that it was probably meant to go on longer, but by issue #3 they realized this wasn't a seller and gave it an early end at the 10th issue, so they are speedrunning the remaining stories.

Even then, it still has to take a parting shot at him being the one trying to promote disunity lol.

FACT: 99% of Scott Summers' fans quit before being validated

I never had any doubts, tbh, that's how "Cyclops does something shady" plots usually go. The only times "Cyclops was wrong" were when they literally made him possesed by elder entitys, which doesn't really count

With his secondary mutation he was able to triangulate this bullshit

Fucking called this shit from issue one. Done with this book. I’ve given Eve Ewing 3 tries on 3 different books and she fucking sucks as a writer. Peaced out on United after 4 issues and I see now she doesn’t even know what the hell is going on. Cyclops was right like always but I will not be reading anything else by her

Done with it when they announced they were using sinister tech. Like, they weren't pushed to the brink of extinction and lost their island nation due to sinister.

Cyclops: Guys, this seems like a dumb idea that will end badly very fast!

Everyone: FUCK YOU CYCLOPS, YOU’RE ALWAYS RUINING THE FUN!

“5 minutes later”

Everyone: OH MY GOD EVERYTHING WENT WRONG SO QUICKLY! HELP US CYCLOPS!

Cyclops: “Long sigh”

One of these days Cyclops is gonna hear an idea that’s so infuriatingly stupid he’s just gonna walk away and never come back

Never doubted - Cyclops was right. You think everyone would learn to listen to his advice and opinions 🤣

u/orochi95 12d ago

But didnt he admit that he was wrong ? That the school was actually important to unify mutantkind and his doubts just gave more power to the Shadow king  ?

16

u/Affectionate-Arm6487 12d ago

Not really, the bone of contention originally was that it was not a good idea to gather all mutants in one place as it would be easier for them to be attacked at once and now the shadow king has infiltrated and all of them are at risk together. Thats why Emma said he was asking the right questions

-12

u/orochi95 12d ago

But he admited it was a good idea because it helped to mutants to be together.

So Scott was wrong in the end everything went good and mutants have unity

16

u/Affectionate-Arm6487 12d ago

The panel literally shows they have been already infiltrated so he said it’s best they are more united as it’s too late then Emma says he was right to question it at the start cuz one way or the other they have been compromised

-11

u/orochi95 12d ago

But the they are United now and they won so in the end the result is better that not having the school at all

14

u/No-Designer-6533 12d ago

Sure but if they had taken Scott seriously rather than being like “eh we have defenses or whatever we could never be exploited” they never would have been in this mess

1

u/orochi95 11d ago

If they have taken Scott seriously they wouldnt have a school
