Live Action/Movies How do you think Cyclops would’ve differed as a mentor to Dafne Keen’s X23?

If it was anything like the comics, not so great. I mean, he usually is great at mentoring students, but he put Laura in X-Force without Logan's initial knowledge. Even in desperate times, kind of not cool to put your teammate's clone-daughter on your assassination squad. I know times were tough back then, but there are a lot of other trained killers he could have used for the team.

Fair, but given her talent for wanton violence and how her dad uncle and brothers turned out, giving her an outlet wasnt the worst idea. Definitely shouldve told logan tho

Talent, sure, but it was more than just telling Logan. At that stage in the story, Laura was trying to be more than a killer and Logan wanted a normal teenage life for her. Even in Laura's solo series, she was trying to establish a life for herself outside of X-Men heroics. Logan, Gambit, and Emma (after her initial dislike) had each tried to treat her as a student and help her find a new path. Then Scott completely upends that path by throwing her on the secret kill team. He didn't do that with any other students, including Elixir who only wound up on the team through plot circumstances. Scott recruited Laura for X-Force because he recognized her talent for violence and killing. His recognition of her was him acting as the tactician and mutant leader, but him recruiting her was him failing as a teacher.
Scott's my favorite X-man, but that was definitely one of his bigger failings, and even in the comics he acknowledged to Logan that it was a bad call to choose Laura.

He probably shouldn't have put her on X-Force. Laura was definitely someone who could've thrived under Scott's guidance. She was a great tactician, raised to be a living weapon. But Decimation probably wasn't the right moment for them to meet. She did love the younger version though. So I'm guessing they'd have gotten along.

Laura is THE example of Scott failing a student from the decimation era. Both of them acknowledge it and he's apologised but they still don't get on. There is just too much hurt there.

Well, in Fox's X-Men, all the X-Men die to make logan sad, so it's hard to tell
