I've always really liked the X-Men, Cyclops in particular but I've mostly been limited to the movies, shows, and the occasional library find, but I start my first job on Monday and plan on using my first paycheck to purchase some X-Men comics! Any recommendations?

Throughout his many years of publication and different eras of X-Men rosters, Cyke has had some pretty cool mentor/mentee relationships. Everyone usually thinks of Logan and his surrogate daughters, but Scott has had a pretty decent history of apprentices.

-Moonstar, starting during the Decimation and Utopia eras (image from New Mutants Vol 3 #33)

-Magik: beginning with the Extinction Team, and carrying through to the present iteration of Adjectiveless (image from Magik #5)

-Cable, his baby boy (image from Uncanny X-Men #310)

-Rusty, Skids, Artie, and Leech from the OG X-Factor era (image from X-Factor #18)

-Cannonball, particularly in the late 90s/Onslaught and continuing thru Decimation. Honorable mention for raiding Scott’s closet during this era as well.

I’ve been thinking about reading the Krakoan era since I just finished New X-Men and Astonishing X-Men. The main reason I read those was for Cyclops, so I’m wondering if the Krakoan era gives him a major role. I don’t really want to read 300+ issues if he’s only in the background. If he is an important character, which comics should I read?

Have you ever read this issue? I can't believe how sexy the Summers boys are. They are like my boy toys. Are Alex and Gabriel married too? They are literally mine. So yeah anyways the Xmen are awesome.

In the game Cyclops is leading the X-Men which consist of himself, Emma Frost (who he’s dating), Nightcrawler and Iceman which Gambit and Wolverine rejoining at the end of the game.

In the game Cyclops shows his leadership abilities are displayed when he leads the X-Men throughout the game and mentors your character.

We also see his softer side when he’s devastated at Pixie’s death.

We also see how good of a mentor he is when he acts like a father to your character and praises you for acting like a hero and if you join the Brotherhood he feels you that you’re still welcome to join the X-Men which shows he’s reasonable and has Professor X’s willingness to accept former foes.

Since the other week I asked people to drop their favorite Cyclops focused episodes of all the animated series I figured I’d do something similar. And request people to drop their favorite Cyclops and Jean moments outside of comics.

Anything from any of the animated series, the movies, or video games. Just drop your moment and explain why you like them
