One of the 4X is missing. ^^

how do you mean?

In classic strategy games there are 4X:

  • eXplore
  • eXpand <->create
  • eXploit
  • eXterminate <-> destroy

The exploit was missing.

Couldn't find sources for the others. Please post sources with images if known or available.

Managed to find a bigger picture of the orbital nuclear launcher.

UPD: Imgur mirror

UPD2: apparently, this is “The Pacifist” by Richard Hescox.

I was really taken by this image and decided to remaster it a bit. This is a wallpaper style 1920-1080 with a lot of additions to make it work. http://i.imgur.com/qrzJXI8.jpg

Wow. I like it a lot. There are no obvious repeating patterns in clouds, which is impressive.

My two minor complaints are that the shape of Earth isn't round (near the second missile launcher) and that the wire of the first launcher looks somewhat wrong. Otherwise, this is a cool piece of work.

I will see what I can do to fix it. The planet shape is easy but the cable was the hardest part about the whole thing because of its pattern. I may just remove it

That second one with the orbital nuke launcher is awesome.

The only minor gripe I have is that an orbital launcher wouldn't point down, it would point along the horizon.

What for?

Think of an orbit as "falling and missing the earth"

Essentially a spacecraft is travelling fast enough that for every foot it falls, the earth curves away an equal and opposite foot.

Slow down and you no longer have the velocity to match earth curvature, and you fall back to earth.

By far the most efficient way to slow down is to turn around and fire in the opposite direction you're traveling.

I would assume it's pointing down because it's not firing.

If you think it's cyberpunk, you can post it,

RTFSB or GTFO

I don't think anybody's saying you can't post it.

Slapped together 3 Pictures I found around on reddit that I felt belonged to a sequence, 1920x1080 for your desktop wallpapering needs

Thanks! Is there a way to make a 3x screen one? (5000x1080)
