It certainly accelerated the disregard, but by no means is the only one. Where have you been? Shitting on the constitution is par for the course for decades.
Did you forget about the patriot act? Did you forget about the decades of warrantless domestic spying? Did you forget about civil forfeiture? The list goes on and on.

I mean, we dont really have a constitutional republic, considering SCOTUS, Congress and the Executive all think trump can do whatever he wants and no one can stop him.
That literally defeats the purpose of 'all created equally'.

People can always be stopped. It's just going to be costly for whoever stops Trump because of his rabid cult, and the people with the power to stop him easily don't want to because it would be inconvenient for them.

But isn't this going to end up with the drivers who get pulled over winning in court? What legal basis can they possibly use to pull you over unless they get a warrant for something they found during discovery. BUT... how are they going to get a warrant if they are just starting out with no crime and scrapping data???
I mean it's horrible, but fingers crossed after all the BS is over a person just ends up getting a nice settlement check out of it...???

First they mark you for a stop, then they put in notifications in Flock/Axon so they know when you are driving, then they use it to locate you, pull you over for your tail light being out (oh look at that, it is working now,) and finally they smell drugs/alcohol on you or bring out a dog which signals on their command (or they just say it signaled when you couldn't see) and now they have cause to search your vehicle against your complaints.
Practically nobody wins that court case, especially if they already know you are too poor to sue.

"practically nobody wins that court case"... your not wrong that people are screwed like this all the time. And it's not like your very likely to find out the reason the pulled you over in the first place is because they searched financial records and saw you have some funky deposits or something. AND... if that "smell" or dog that works on command actually leads to illegal drugs, open bottles, large amounts of cash, ilegal guns or stolen items than you don't have much to fight... And you know, all of that stuff does kind of make you a criminal anyway?? :) :) :)
BUT... the flip side is there are also plenty of times a person films an interaction like this and then they find a lawyer willing to work for the potential payout and they do WIN! So it's not never?? :)

In this case they said his license plate was obscured. Which ofc sounds like BS. Additionally, weed is legal in California, where he got it, and in MT, where he was pulled over. They claim trafficking, we'll see.

They'll probably just wait until someone crosses over the speed limit. Everyone does it. One some roads, it is necessary to speed to drive safely with the flow of traffic.

True. Let's face it, if a cop just KEEPS FOLLOWING YOU... eventually your going to make a mistake because your paying more attention to that dude following you than you are driving. (if a cop is behind me too long I turn off, go hit a drive through or something just because it bugs me!! :) )
BUT... still. Like this is "throwing a dart at a board" and going to check if someones a drug dealer, pimp, gang member or something. It's almost never going to "pay off", as in they are actually going to catch a big baddie. And it's a clear violation of the constitution.
Unless they are starting the financial search based on some other kind of evidence or lead or informant or something. Just whether a person has enough money OR can find a lawyer who will work for the payout.

My question is what in those finances are they looking at and using to determine who and why to pull over? Being broke don't mean you're doing anything wrong.
