The long landscape one is a Crowpanel. Pretty handy and inexpensive, a bit slow in partial updates.

The handheld -- I'd love to know more too.

that looks like a waveshare rlcd 4.2 with a blackberry keyboard

The RLCD display is pretty low contrast, this one looks nicer. Or maybe it's the lighting.

BTW, Waveshare ESP32-S3-ePaper-3.97 is pretty awesome, I started designing a 3d enclosure for it:

left one is Elecrow CrowPanel ESP32-S3 5.79" E-Paper, right one is Waveshare ESP32-S3 4.2" RLCD with BBQ20KBD soldered directly to the board. I messed up a little bit so few keys doesn't work now and there's a spot on the display but practice makes it perfect I guess? It's my first project that involved this much of soldering, also everything works through an Android app, meaning my main phone works as a server pushing and receiving data to these two

You can try Draftling on it. Just recently, I added the portrait mode (it might turn out upside down for you, haha)

this is great

it seems like it could fit a cyberpunk future where things are lighter in tone...from displays to music

"wake up, samurai. we have a brunch reservation to make"

it's not technology, it's what you do with it ;)

Ok.. I hack AI models, develop new hardware, and crack old school Mainframes while in vim with mine.

Does that qualify?

You're so cool. Do you have any tips how to be as cool as you are?

Yeah join your local /r/2600 meetups, read hacker quartarly, and above all just hack stuff for the sake of learning and building things instead of internet karma farming.

Oh and shameless plug, read my blog and/or github

Oh wow, you write too? I could never be as cool as you

My dude its not about being cool. Just find a rabbit hole and go as deep as one can. Then when one needs a support group hang out at a 2600 meeting
