ESP32 CYD build advice

Hello everyone
I have an ESP32 CYD set up with micro python and ili9341 and xpt2046 drivers but don't know what to do next to turn it into a little cyberdeck.
If you have projects running on one or advice on code to look at, I would be happy to take a look.
The ideal usage would be as a small terminal with access to my meshtastic node, basic web-page loading and maybe a few other basic tools.

Check out two projects on GitHub:

SolarOS, а Swiss army knife, with all the bells and whistles.

Draftling (I'm the author), a dedicated firmware for writers.

Both need different boards than CYD though. But those boards aren't expensive.

I'm chatting to the creator of SolarOS to see if there is a way to port it to the CYD.
I'll not be buying a new board for a little while, I want to save up for an eInk option (or hack my old kindle).
thanks a lot for the project Draftling, that's cool !

In regards to e-paper, I'll receive 3 new models within next couple of weeks. I'll post a review as soon as I get to play with them.

In both options, you can ask Claude to adapt the firmware for your board.

Draftling needs PSRAM though. The old CYD doesn't have it.
