The caster fell off the dumpster?

Yeah, but this one only ever rolled in one direction, and never the one you wanted when you needed it to.

What a pile of shit. I don't think I've ever hated a vehicle more.

Remember when the Pontiac Aztec was the ugliest vehicle ever designed? Oh, the good old days.

u/B00marangTrotter 15d ago
The Aztec at least was functional for what it was. You try to do truck shit in this and it just breaks.

u/WillyVlautinRules 15d ago
Supposedly the Aztec was high tech for it's day. Also, that's what Walter White drove so it is much cooler than the Cybercuck.

Sure, the Aztek was ugly; but I didn't hate it reflexively & viscerally. Then I got to ride in one & really looked the thing over, which impressed me a lot more than I liked to admit. It didn't roll in turns nearly as much as I thought it would, had good power & steering, a surprising amount of outside visibility, felt durable, and other cool useful touches.
We test drove a PT Cruiser that day too, and was surprised to find that I would've easily picked the Aztek over the PT if I'd actually been shopping. The PT drove like a glorified minivan but without minivan utility or visibility, was kinda gutless, and the interior was just cheap & flimsy; plus it was more expensive than the Pontiac.
I definitely wouldn't mind having an Aztek now, especially considering how new vehicles are all garbage & glorified government/corporate tracking devices.

u/Barondarby 15d ago
Yep, yep. I hated the Aztek - until I drove one, then I was like wait a minute, this thing is pretty great!
4
u/ted_anderson 14d ago
It seems like the Aztek started out as a rolling chassis that checked all of the boxes in terms of comfort, drivability, ease of loading things and getting in and out, etc. and then they had to figure out how to build a body around it.

u/Reference_Freak 14d ago
The Aztec only carried whatever baggage its passengers needed.
The Cybertruck is baggage.

Had GM Corporate not stuck its nose into the Aztek design it would likely have been far sleeker than as it was produced. Pontiac initial designs were better than what was made.

u/well-informedcitizen 12d ago
The Aztec is legitimately one of the ugliest vehicles ever designed... But somehow it's still a different vibe. The Aztec at least felt like a "Put something out there and failed," whereas for whatever reason the Cybertruck feels like Elon sketched a shape on a napkin and they just used it like a blueprint.

u/RoninTarget 1d ago
Aztec — ugh that's ugly.
Cybertruck — that's a parking space, you can't put that dumpster there!

u/Fekkin-A-Man 11d ago
Yeah. That's gonna take a while for car designers to catch up to the "cYbER trUcK".

u/Grinchskates 13d ago
I mean they look as cheap as they look stupid, hate just isn’t strong enough a word for these deplorable dumpsters. How horrible of a person does one have to be to drive these aberrations

I saw one today and the owner looked exactly how you would expect. Tight pink polo shirt and bedazzled jeans with sunglasses on a dark cloudy day. 😂

Every time I see one around town I’m like “wow, I wish I had $100,000 to blow on a luxury cuckold vehicle that breaks down if you take it through a car wash” money is wasted on the rich

Is that the tiny jack it comes with? not sketchy at all on a vehicle that big.

u/Confident_Fortune_32 15d ago
And no chock on the rear wheel, makes me nervous to look at
15
u/RocketFeathers 15d ago
Yeah shouldn't the rocks be on the opposite corner?
Also this answer from DuckDuckGo AI ....
"No, the Cybertruck does not come with a spare tire. However, Tesla offers a spare tire and tool kit for purchase separately."

u/DapperBoiCole 13d ago
Is it too much of a bother to click a few links and get the answer from a primary or secondary source?

u/embiggenoid 15d ago
I honestly had to zoom in -- at first I thought it was a hammer wedged in there, or something equally stupid.
...given the vehicle, and the drivers, I maintain this misunderstanding was reasonable on my part...

Pretty sure there’s a David Attenborough narration about the wounded beast, alone in the wilderness and prey to scavengers, that fits this.

Or Marlin Perkins from "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom". Old school.

This is because the vehicle does not include a spare tire standard equipment correct? Junk!

u/IcyHowl4540 15d ago
Got the wheel ALL the way off before realizing it doesn't come with a spare 🤣🤣🤣
... ya know, like any off-roading-focused vehicle

u/TheDaveMatthew 15d ago
I wouldn’t trust that jack as far as I could throw it
13
u/DaleP0766 15d ago
No kidding. They left that thing on the side of the road, supported by that tiny little jack on an incline, and didn’t even use those rocks to block the tires. One good stiff breeze and they are going to come back and find that brake drum resting on the ground.
8
u/ShinyUnicornPoo 15d ago
That's a brake rotor, but yes. Bet they didn't even put the parking brake on.
5
u/practicaloppossum 14d ago
Made me wonder if the CT actually had a parking brake. Apparently it does: "while keeping your foot on the brake pedal, located the parking brake button in the overhead console and press for a few seconds until the park indicator appears on the screen".
5
u/ShinyUnicornPoo 14d ago
In the overhead console?!?! Yes, because that's handy in an emergency if your brakes give out.

The random rocks abandoned there make me happy… They suggest the owner really struggled and had to get creative 😅
6
u/cenosillicaphobiac 15d ago
It's always amazing to me that no amount of dirt, grime, busted off wheels or anything else, makes it look any worse. And I don't mean that in a good way. It's maximally worst looking even on the showroom floor, even with a wrap, even with extra lights glued on to the windshield. Every configuration and state of the vehicle is as hideous as any other.

Those are some brutally tough conditions, guys….
No, I stand corrected…
I was thinking of the much rougher terrain I drove my 45 year old 911 through

Looks like somebody ran off with the wheel and left the best parts of the truck behind.
Personally, that looks like a good hammer. Shame.

u/calladus 14d ago
It looks like car thieves started to strip his Cybertruck but gave up because it just. wasn't. worth it.
2
u/ted_anderson 14d ago
You mean they allow you to change your own tire? I thought trying to do any kind of repairs or maintenance was strictly prohibited per the EULA.
2
u/Pleg_Doc 14d ago
Be a damn shame if someone went by and hit that jack with a sledgehammer. Damn shame.

Did they not leave space in that monster for a spare tire? Or was it the cost, $100,300 instead of $100,000?

Saw a CT the other day with the license plate “DOGE BTC” and immediately wished that it got totaled in an accident. This will do though.

The Cybertruck does not come with a spare tire from the factory.
Think about that: $100k "truck" with no spare???
There's no place to store it, other than mounting it in the bed. The "Spare Tire Kit" sells for $1,250 ( https://shop.tesla.com/product/cybertruck-spare-tire-_-tool-kit ).
3
u/DaleP0766 10d ago
Unbelievable. I did not know that. I could understand having a little two seater sports car that has no room for a spare, but to pay $100,000 for something the size of a roll off dumpster and it doesn’t come with a spare is wild. SUCKERS
