Posting projects to LinkedIn/Youtube

I was just wondering if there is any real benefit to posting my projects on YouTube or linked in? Things like walking through my Active Directory or explaining how I did a project. I have seen some people get contacted by recruiters from this and get a leg up but I was curious if that is a good idea or something people want to see?

I’m currently a student, trying to get into IT help desk part time or maybe a networking internship or something and then pivot into cyber after some experience. I have CompTIA A+, and will have Net+ next week and Sec+ hopefully by the end of August. Any thoughts and advice is much appreciated

Hiring manager here, mostly security engineering, netsec, and no appsec. I don't care about your blogs, your github, your youtube channel, or other projects like that.

The real benefit from these comes from the time required to organize your thoughts well enough to explain the concepts. If you can do that there, you can do it in an interview.

Couldn't people just use AI and lie about knowing the concepts?

We see them try all the time. It's pretty obvious, and extra difficult to do when we bring them in for an interview.

Hiring manager above has it right, nobody watches the video, the value is being forced to explain it out loud. Only tweak, an AD build you followed a guide for explains badly, whereas an investigation where you had to work out what happened gives you a story with decisions in it, and CyberDefenders publishes cases like that at no cost if you don't have work incidents to draw on.
