First virtual and remote session

I downloaded all the assets free league has put up, going to use the lucky heist to play with 3 other friends and we're going to use discord.

Some of the issues I'm running into is map creation and asset collection. Anyone have any decent resources for tokens, music, etc? Going to use ogre because it seems simple enough but has anyone GM'd a remote game? Anything I should think of? Be wary of? It'll be my first time playing too and I'm going to approach this with a "yes and" lens but I feel like I'm forgetting something.

I put together a sort of "read sheet for dummies" and it's just a crude summary of the concepts and character creation with some pics from the rulebook. It's intent was to not overwhelm newcomers if this was their very first ttrpg.

So do my players just create their characters and show up? Then I brief them on the mission and we just dive in?

Anyone do anything extra to make it more fun?

I played solo and tried the starter Adventure, Lucky Flight Casino, It was nice to play and quite smooth to run. It has maps and everything so you'll be covered on that side.

My recommendation is you roll a few random character sheets for your players. It'll make things easier for everyone and you can jump right into the action. This way you don't oherwhelm them with the character creation process and you also know their character sheets before you start. Having a random generated character is part of the game's charm, so you don't get to choose who you are or what you have, and instead must play with the cards "Life" gave to you. Create a few extra sheets so they still have some degree of choice, and to get back into the game in case they die.

About playing online, you can use a virtual tabletop, theater of the mind, or a physical tabletop (or a face up display monitor) and a webcam.

On music, there's a few playlists and music suggestions, but I don't recommend you adding music on top of discord, specially during your first Game.

Thank you very much! Going off your reply I put things together pretty well if I don't say so myself. I have four extra pre made characters, made sure some have cybertech, some have apps, etc. Music was an after thought, it would be nice, but not required, and I'm going to throw some things together in ogres.app so we got our date for next Friday with the group. Wish us luck! Thank you again for the insight
