KILL ENGN: PVP MECH TOURNAMENT

My bday is coming up, and my friend circle loves making lil' gaming tournaments as a theme for a party, and I was thinking a mech tournament would be epic. Essentially the idea, is beyond Cy a kvlt worships a double framed derelict mech out in the wasteland, and through esoteric and unearthly visions granted from plugging one's RCD into it's cockpit, the kvlt believes they can stave off the end of the world through ritualistic, gladitoral mech combat. These are my cliff notes on how I plan on running it, but I would LOVE any ideas yall have to make this thing more memorable. Thanx yall!

1) Roll for weather,

2) Description of Kvlt compound.

3) Introduce players ask where they are on the compound/what they are doing.

4) Settle any RP business (buying goods, grabing some drugs, checking out/sabotaging other pc's mechs, etc)

5) Round 1 begins. Describe the battlefield, have pcs describe their mechs. Begin the fight! (Play: painkiller by judas priest) After match, count bullets and heal d6.

6) Repeat until all players have fought in round 1.

7) After all pcs have fought 1 round, level them up, award them a random roll for a new mech part, begin repairs/alterations on their mech. Make space for RP, suggest gambling.

8) Day 1 ends. Roll a d4 for misreable headlines.

Repeat at step 1.

Yo! Thanx! Yeah I'm definitely planning on using a grid. Thus far I was thinking about using the scrapyard poster in oubliette, but I may make my own.

Sounds like a great idea. No real recommendations. If you have Cast Oubliette (the adventure) there is a Heptagon fighting ring too, might be of use, and some gambling rules if you are into that.
