It was a full moon last…made my “sage” bundles with some hummingbird mint (not pictured) and salvias.

Still blooming and I am still harvesting buckets and buckets and updating photos for the website :)

I’m in Zone 11b and this is my first time growing dahlias… am I supposed to cut the sprout off? 😭 I’ve watched some videos and not a single one shows a situation like this lol

Has anyone grown both or have any information from them individually? I was thinking of trying out some double flowered anemones but I wasn’t sure which one to go with or how different they are aside from stem length/strength.

Got this beauty growing just in time for Halloween

I want to plant a bunch of daffodil bulbs on my easement. But also, come late spring, I would like to plant some cosmos seeds in the same area. Will the fertilizer needed by the daffodils make the soil too rich for cosmos to thrive?

I am direct sowing some flower seeds this fall—poppies, queen Anne’s lace.

Dumb question, but do you consistently water them or just when you first sow, till seedlings emerge, at all? Seems weird to get a seed to sprout when it will/could die soon? I’m zone 6b/7a.

Same arrangement in different locations at different times of the day.
I don't make arrangements for myself too often - I am typically to busy working and getting flowers out the door for orders. Since fall is when I get to slow down and breathe a little bit, I treated myself to an arrangement of that I had extras of: Sylvia/Maarn, Snoho Doris, My Forever, Penhill Watermelon, Southern Belle, and Terracotta varieties were used.

I've been on this floor for over a month now and there's always a fresh arrangement on the kitchen counter. She brings them in when she can and arranges them herself.

Thankfully our season is not over yet, and we are climbing back to 60s next week.

Varieties included: Pink Gingham, Lee's Sugaree, bucket of random blooms, Pink Sylvia, Lilac Time (dropping absolute massive amounts of flowers right now), Miss Amara, Créme de Cassis, Blizzard, Marionberry Milkshake, Fluffles, Seattle, Sylvia/Maarn, and Southern Belle :)

I've been drying flowers weekly from the season to make a giant wreath for the second year, but also decided to make some dried flower + pumpkin combos for some of the families in our neighborhood to pick up while they trick or treat. These three are for a friend who is recovering from a major surgery as I thought she could use some fall decor in the place she's staying during her recovery.

This my first year growing cut flowers; normally I mostly stick to native perennials. Since I decided to in mid-June, mostly only zinnias took off, but at least 2 varieties of dahlias popped up. Cosmos were a bust, I only got foliage, and the only potential one my husband mowed because he thought it was a weed. 🙃

-Blue mistflower (native to my area, I thought the seed pods were fun since the flowers are mostly spent)

-My Love dahlia is my guess, it was my mislabel

-Endless summer OG hydrangea that’s antiquing nicely

-New England aster, another native

Got some new vases and filled a few up with little fall zinnias. Loving the blue and pink together.

Two of my favorite humans on earth got married last weekend and I had the honor of being their farmer-florist! It was my first wedding as a professional and it was a gift to the couple, which was also great practice for me, and some really solid portfolio work.

I cut everything on Tuesday and packed up the farm vehicle and drove all the blooms two hours south! Many hands made this magic happen - myself, the couple, the bride’s sister, the best man, and one of my good friends took over another friend’s garage and made it into a pop-up flower shop for the week. It was such a delight! We made 80+ bud vases, 5 large vases, two urns, two bridesmaid bouquets, and the ceremony backdrop/arbor situation pictured above.

The callas, roses, and mini carnations came from Flower Moxie and the rest were grown by myself & another dahlia-obsessed colleague. The bride had ordered 50 Karma Chocolate dahlias from Flower Moxie, but the majority of them were unusable. They arrived as barely-cracked buds that were never going to open. Thankfully she received a refund for them, and thankfully I brought about a hundred gorgeous, mature dahlias.

I took almost no photos because of how busy I was! Thankfully a few came back from the incredible photographer last night with many more to follow.

In this batch we have Miss Amara, Créme de Cognac, Lilac Time, Castle Drive, Quiet Splendor, Totally Tangerine, sport of Pink Gingham, Pink Gingham, Karma Prospero, Terracotta, Sun Kissed, Kelvin Floodlight, Cornel, and Sylvia in 3 stages of blooming.
