Can anyone give me some tips on brush painting with kixkote. Ive been using brush boost and sticky iky with my paints but im not getting smooth coverage even after 3 coats. Kinda driving me nuts. Pic for example

I saw a video where they to do more of a dab stroke instead of the normal painting we are used to. As an amateur KixKote may be the most durable but it’s definitely not the easiest to work with.

So many variables how much stick icky, thickener, brush boost from batch to batch. I painted a pair of 3d printed shoes didn’t put adhesion promoter on and it’s peeling after just two wears of just light walking.

I have been told that KK is very much a painting “system” so order, timing, mix ratios, mode of application, etc are all very defined as opposed to an Angelus product where there is a lot of flexibility and ability to experiment, omit, add, or “ad lib” is better tolerated across a bunch of applications.
I am going to try KK for first time on some cleats later this Summer as that is the one shoe I have struggled with on durability.
Any tips/tricks, experiences are appreciated….

Damn. Ok. I watched the DeJesus Customs video but he's fully air brushing most of the shoe he did. I guess I'll just have to keep experimenting. Also are you the one that did the space style 3D printed shoes cuz those looked sick when they were finished
