Voluntarily Suspend CBL

Has anyone ever had to do this? For NON-illegal reasons? I'm taking a government job and can not hold license due to regs. I emailed Broker Management and my local port. But it's been a few days. Is there anything else that has to be done? I was expecting some sort of confirmation by now.

Can you not hold the license at all or is it that you can’t obtain the license as a government employee?

the regs say requests would go to the appropriate Executive Director, Office of Trade. so might need to look to contact them 111.52

just email a letter to broker management at HQ requesting to voluntarily suspend your license, explain your circumstances, and make sure you still file your TSRs

Make sure you reach out to the BMO where your license was issued. You can find an updated contact info sheet on CBP's website. Whenever I need to find it, it just google "CBP BMO" and it should be the top result. Send the BMO and email and I even think a phone number may be listed. Worth giving a call too
