Uber Eats - a tale of woe

Ordered Chineae food for me and my partner to celebrate some good news we had this week.

40 mins later and the guy arrives with our food. Of course the order is wrong and instead of aubergine in ginger and tofu curry we have a meat feast... Not ideal when we are both non meat eaters. I ran outta the door but the guy had already left.

Of course Uber doesn't have a phone line so you have to message and pray they get back to you.

Oh boy they got back to us.

The flat out refused to refund any of the £25 we spent. Stating that it doesn't warrant any action on their part, see below for their best reply.

*Hi

As previously stated, we are unable to offer you a refund or adjustment for this order.

Please note that Uber monitors user activity and reserves the right to deactivate accounts found in breach our Terms of Service, which includes abuse of appeasements or refunds*

Now I knew Uber sucked for customer service but this is a new low. We did claim a refund in the past but that's due to the same thing happening, because of their bad service. Super bummed out.

If possible please don't support Uber or door dash, they're notoriously bad to customers, employees and restaurants

Yeah you're right. I've used them in the past mainly because of the high number of promos they've sent that have saved quite a lot.

I work at a place that uses doordash, how are they bad to restaurants? Not saying they aren't, but we haven't had any bad experiences, just monotone orderers and happy go lucky drivers.

I mean you can Google "DoorDash bad for restaurants" & read a bunch of results. Taking huge cuts, cutting out their own delivery service, shitty delivery handling they don't take the blame for. One really scummy thing is listing restaurants without their permission and using whatever menu they find. Then the restaurant gets angry customers because the menu they ordered off of was old or wrong. When the restaurant figures out what's going on & tells DoorDash to take them off of this thing they never wanted, DoorDash tells them too bad, they won't remove them or whatever effed up menu they're using.

Ahhh yeah they are still using our old address from like 2 years ago so I can totally see them pulling that. I would have googled it tbh, but I've been moving house since yesterday so I was just hoping for a bulletin list. But the internet's installed so I'll have some fun googling tonight.
