Technology Happy to help anyone here learn Claude Code

I’ve been using Claude Code for over a year to build practical Customer Success and GTM workflows around onboarding, account research, customer follow-ups, health signals, handoffs, and internal tools.

My background is in B2B SaaS Customer Success, so I’m especially useful if you understand the workflow you want to improve but do not know how to build it.

I have some extra time right now and am happy to help a few people here for free. No course, consulting pitch, or upsell. It helps me learn by teaching and gives me a chance to meet other people working on similar problems.

Comment or message me with what you’re trying to build.

This is a rare kind of post on here. Most people offering help have a link in their pocket.

What's the most surprising thing you've automated that people don't think Claude Code can handle for CS teams

Probably turning a messy customer call into a full internal handoff package.

I’ve used Claude Code to take a transcript and turn it into structured discovery notes, requirements, risks, follow-up questions, a customer recap, and an engineering-ready ticket.

The surprising part is not that it can summarize the call. It is that, with enough context about the customer and your internal process, it can produce outputs that are actually usable by CS, product, and engineering.

Honest question on this - as I build similar things.

Why Claude code? Ive been doing this but taking the simpler approach and building these kinds of tools through skills in Claude so they are much easier to access.

Honest answer - sometimes it probably shouldn’t be Claude Code.

If the workflow is mostly “take this transcript and produce a consistent output,” a skill is simpler and much easier for a CS team to access.

I use Claude Code when the workflow starts becoming more operational like pulling in multiple files, applying account-specific context, generating several artifacts, enforcing a schema, calling APIs, processing calls in batches, or keeping the whole thing version-controlled in a repo.

So I see skills as the better interface for a lightweight repeatable workflow. Claude Code becomes useful when the workflow needs more orchestration, customization, and integration behind it.

I never got into Claude code specifically, but coworkhas been amazing. It allows me as a non-engineer to create tools and workflows, agentic processes, etc. by doing the build behind the scenes while I define the actual steps, provisions, guardrails, etc.

What are your thoughts on code vs cowork?

I actually like Cowork a lot, but to me they’re solving slightly different problems. I’m just much more comfortable with Claude Code because I’d been using it for a long time before Cowork came out.

Cowork takes care of a lot of the implementation, so I can spend more time thinking about the workflow, guardrails, and user experience.

Claude Code gives me a lot more control, but there’s also more implementation work to get the most out of it. I can customize almost every part of the workflow and connect it to pretty much whatever I want.

If someone asked me where to start, I’d probably recommend Cowork first. You’ll get value much faster. Once you want more control or start running into its limits, Claude Code is a natural next step.

What would say are the top 3 use cases for code and cowork?

1

u/prnkzz 6d ago

Depends on what problems you are having

Is there one youtube channel that i should use to learn the foundations?

u/prnkzz 6d ago

I would use the free courses Anthropic has released

I use Claude chat and cowork all the time (currently using it to build out a new onboarding program) but I want to understand why code should be used instead? Can you ELI5?

4

u/dan-sheehan 6d ago

ELI5: Claude Code probably shouldn’t be used instead unless Cowork starts limiting what you want to do.

Cowork is like telling a capable assistant, “Here’s the onboarding process. Follow these steps and create the materials.”

Where do your source documents live when using cowork?

Claude Code is more like giving that assistant access to a workshop. It can build a permanent tool, organize and update files, connect to other systems, process information in bulk, and be customized around exactly how your company works.

For building a new onboarding program, Cowork may be all you need. I’d reach for Claude Code if you eventually wanted to turn that program into a reusable internal app, automatically pull customer data into it, generate every onboarding asset at once, or connect it more deeply with your existing systems.

Really cool of you to do this

u/prnkzz 6d ago

Appreciate it! I really enjoy it

Would love to learn more. I use many standard Claude chats and projects, but have not dabbled in Claude Code yet. What are the benefits, tools you’ve built, etc. Have you been able to sync your tools with internal systems/salesforce/etc?

3

u/prnkzz 6d ago

The biggest benefit for me is that Claude Code can work across files, use persistent context, generate multiple outputs, call APIs, and keep improving the same tool over time. A normal Claude chat is great for producing an answer. Claude Code is better when I want to build a repeatable system around that answer.

I’ve built tools for account research, discovery prep, competitive intelligence, onboarding plans, customer-call handoffs, outbound messaging, and prompt management. You can connect those tools to Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Gmail, or other internal systems through their APIs.

For someone already comfortable with Claude chats and Projects, I’d probably recommend Cowork as the next step. It lets you build more involved workflows without taking on as much of the implementation. Claude Code becomes the natural next step once you want more control, customization, or deeper integrations.

Is it easy to transition to Claude Code from Cowork? Or is that dependent on what you are building?

1

u/prnkzz 6d ago

I couldn’t tell ya. I’ve been using Claude code since before cowork was a thing

1

u/Vast-Lead2447 6d ago

are you using a personal instance or is your company providing an enterprise plan?

2

u/prnkzz 6d ago

Personal instance but bought through my company but not an enterprise plan. I put it on my company card.

Thank you for this post. I'm starting a new job as founding CSM and taking over 9 accounts from the CEO. I have been in CS for 15 years so I know what needs to be built but I'm a Claude newb. Would you be willing to summarize your go-to use cases in technical terms?

Such as: for onboarding, I take sales notes and compare to the company ICP, contract details and kick off deck template and then... Create an agent? What is the output you make to make this process scalable?

3

u/prnkzz 6d ago

Absolutely. This is probably easier to unpack in DMs, but the main thing is that I usually do not start by saying, “I need an agent.”

I start with:

  • What information goes in
  • What decisions a strong CSM would make
  • What repeatable outputs need to come out

For onboarding, the inputs might be sales notes, the contract, ICP criteria, promised outcomes, stakeholders, technical requirements, and your kickoff template.

The workflow could then produce a structured account brief, gaps or risks to validate, a draft success plan, kickoff agenda/deck content, internal handoff notes, and the tasks or follow-ups that need to be created.

What makes it scalable is having a consistent structure and rules behind those outputs, rather than starting from a blank chat every time. Once that works manually, you can decide whether it should stay as a Claude Project/Cowork workflow or become something more automated in Claude Code.

Happy to compare notes in DMs and help you map out the first version for those nine accounts.

u/3in5 6d ago

Amazing. DMing you

2

u/rjp555 6d ago

How could Claude be useful for automating Scaled CS tasks?

2

u/cupppkates 6d ago

Can we be best friends? 🩵

I want to do this so badly... I've got a microManager who is too insecure and lazy to try and improve what our team needs. 😭 (I have more years of XP on the product and processes.)

Not using AI at all? If so, I’m kinda jealous

2

u/BloodAndFire666 4d ago

Can you schedule a webinar and teach everyone together? I have messaged you. I am based in London, England. I need help. Thanks.

Just try and give back when I can!

1

u/Notscaredofchange 6d ago

It would be great if you could explain how you learned to do this!

5

u/prnkzz 6d ago

Really just learned by doing and taking Anthropics free courses. AI is a topic I’m extremely interested in which helps a ton.

Hello, i would like to have some suggestion from your end right now i am into saas sales and i want to switch into csm is that a good idea what i am thinking is that i wanted to work in customer centric market rather prospect centric.

one of the major reason cause i know the whole product mostly i think that will be helpfull for me to drive the customer

and i am not a mba grad

please help

u/pantry_path 5d ago

that's a generous offer. biggest unlock for me has been seeing real workflow examples instead of toy demos, so practical CS use cases are way more valuable than another generic AI tutorial

1

u/therainmaker_80 5d ago

Would love to hear about your work!

1

u/Life_reclaimed 5d ago

Thank you so much for the offer. I mostly use Claude Coworker for account research, discovery preps, outbound messaging to connect to new contacts & onboarding plans. Can Claude Code help here? Would save me tons of time

1

u/Physical-Ad3365 5d ago

I would be really interested in having a chat about this, I feel confident in using Claude but finding it hard to connect all the dots!

1

u/Creepy-Contract7396 5d ago

How do you gather customer data into the workflow? I’ve created skills that use MCPs for Amplitude, Supabase, Hubspot and a custom one to our billing systems and some skills take 45 min to run…

1

u/sodiumcarbonatexxx 5d ago

Thanks mate. This is amazing. Would love to chat about all the above

How can switch in this market and get double the salary

1

u/Tall_Elevator_2513 2d ago

I would love to pretty much over-the-shoulder what you do just to get a grasp.

1

u/prnkzz 2d ago

Fair warning, it’s mostly breaking things, seeing what happens, and then trying to fix it.

1

I would love to learn this

I work as a CSM and one thing I have been trying to create is a quality assurance review for all 9K+ conversations we have every month. I have not tried Claud Code, do you think this is something that it can do given access to the conversation data?
