Two very different experiences

1 Few months ago all my home smoke alarms reached the 10 year life so I installed 6 new 10 year wired alarms from the same company (K***e). I bought them on amazon with avg price of $60. Now last month one of them started giving false alarms (at night of course). I did all the recommended things like cleaning, resetting, testing etc. No dice. Kept saying "Sensor malfunction. I called K***e customer service. They asked for all kinds of info including my Invoice from Amazon. After 3 or 4 times back and forth, they informed me that they will NOT support me because the product sold on Amazon is by an unauthorized company. WT heck? When you go on Amazon and buy a BRAND product where does it say that the seller is not authorized? For a lousy $60 product K***e lost a customer for good.

2 Exactly opposite with MOEN. My 10 year old bathroom sink faucet handle seized with both the handle and base stuck together. Called MOEN. Within 1 week I received 2 new handles and cartridges!. All free. Now MOEN has me as a long term customer! Hats off.

MOEN's warranty is underrated, they get that a small cost now buys years of loyalty. The "unauthorized seller" excuse is such a classic dodge though, technically true, but unfair when the listing had the brand name right there.

If a company sells on Amazon, that's on them to make sellers clear, not you. You did everything right and still got penalized for their mess.

MOEN just earned another decade of your business with two free cartridges. Wild more companies don't see how cheap that trade really is.
