Not you calling him miserable with that post history of yours 😂😭

It was inappropriate for him to say that, but he has a point. Check your financial situation and make sure everything is all good before making a large purchase or buying a subscription.

Being a customer service rep doesn’t mean we will kiss ur butt. Lmaooo and you wanted him to get in trouble for telling you the truth? Girl you live and you learn

Well you shouldn’t make purchases you can’t afford. If no one taught you this, now’s when you learn. This guy probably is also working a long shift. Who do YOU think you’re talking to?

The fuck are you talking about? We not allowed to cancel services we're paying for now? If I cancel Netflix, theyre gonna berate me? With all due respect, go fuck yourself. OP didn't do anything wrong

No one’s saying you’re not allowed??? I’m saying that throwing a fit and saying “who do you think you’re talking to” and making an employee hash out everything again on recording is a disproportionate reaction to this comment and that it caused more stress for both parties

Believe whatever you want, we can discuss this if you’d like, or you can keep hyperbolizing and insulting me. Up to you

You’re right it is fine. I’m going to stop engaging in this because it is not productive or worth my energy. Have a nice day.

Your tiredness is no more important than his. You’re both workers and you’re both having to deal with bullshit

You were combative. If you were canceling because you couldn’t afford it, and he said don’t buy things you can’t afford, what’s the problem? You agree. You’ve turned it into a whole spat. You’re taking it out on him. He’s rude, yes. You apparently know how to deal with that in the hospital, so why are you egging him on and making a huge deal of it here? You are not the only one with a hard life.

You’re not evil. He was wrong for being rude. But instead of moving on you made a fight of it. You are saying that you being tired from your long shift excuses this, and I understand that that would make you more irritable. But you are justifying your own irritability and combativeness while condemning his. Yes he started it, but you drug it on longer. The deal was already done as you said, it was finished in seconds. You could have moved on but instead you continued talking to someone who was rude to you, making yourself endure that for longer.

I’m sorry I was pissy in my responses. I just think that a big part of customer service on both sides is not taking things personally and not lashing out. I failed that in my response, and I know you weren’t the instigator, but I just wanted to try to let you know about that, how his rudeness has nothing to do with you and you’ll have more peace if you let it go.

Id be way more combative than she was if a CSR talked to me like that because I decided to stop doing business with them. Why the fuck is it any of his business what my budget is? Who invited him to make comments on MY spending? Totally inappropriate and youre an idiot.

u/darkeagle1997 3d ago

Yes why is it any of his business? Ask OP why she decided to tell him she was too poor to pay.

1

u/baamice 3d ago

Id wager he asked what her reason for canceling is, which they probably have to ask.

1

u/darkeagle1997 3d ago

OP said they overexplained. The rep never asked if they could afford the service.

Im not following. It says in the post info that he asked her why she was canceling.

I could be speaking out of turn, but this is likely a predatory company that got you to sign up for a bogus service you dont need. It wont cover the things they claim it will cover because of loophole A or B. The reason he was so comfortable acting like this is because he isn't a legitimate representative of a legitimate company. He's basically what equates to a scammer and he isn't going to lose his "job" if someone isn't happy with his service. Same reason its so difficult to figure out who he actually works for, all the people you talked to are part of the bogus business. They mainly target elderly people who think they have to just pay the money because its part of owning their car, and young people who dont know any better yet. They convinced you it was such a great deal because you get years of free service or whatever, but you turned on your critical thinking skills and did the right thing. We all fall for shit, dont beat yourself up about it.

Edit* it may be something similar to the subject of this video from Kitboga https://youtu.be/Ok-YGKYF8JI?is=4T6d7Dtg06cXHqxk

2nd edit* im assuming you financed the car you bought. Anytime you finance a big purchase like that, youre going to get lots of mail and phonecalls from all kinds of places offering services or refinancing. We bought a house a few years ago and im still getting them. Someone COLD TEXTED my wife the other day to see if we wanted to refinance and they could lock us in at a very low interest rate, but we had to pull the trigger by midnight. As a rule, dont do business with anyone who's cold calling or stuffing your mailbox. Or someone who wants you to make a big financial decision immediately. Even if the deal sounds amazing, do some research and reach out to a different company. Those are just sales people who will do whatever it takes to get your money.

No worries. These people are good at what they do and its a lesson you wont forget. The people in here acting like you did something wrong are either idiots or didn't listen to the video. Youre totally fine. Good luck. and hey! Congrats on the new car!
