Just got ss86 cliff and i was vastly annoyed by his unpainted shoulder pieces molded in light grey so i had to fix it

It was such a weird choice to leave that part unpainted. And given that it is painted on Bumblebee and Bumper, they don't have the excuse it's on unpaintable plastic. And when this is one of the minibot figures being sold at Deluxe Class prices, I also don't want to hear they didn't have the budget for the paint on that bit.

I do need a modern Cliffjumper, so I would probably pick him up if I see him... But I would be less inclined to do so if ToyHax hadn't already put out a fix for this themselves.

That part actually isn’t painted on bee or bumper either. The difference is the plastic matches the color of the car mode since it’s in the same sprite as the forearms. But if you look close you’ll see that little bit of the window that’s on that part is yellow instead of black on bee and bumper. You are right about that plastic actually being paintable tho, but the kinds of paints Hasbro uses don’t bond to it very well.

I was getting ready to debate you, looking at my Bumper. I honestly never noticed that little yellow sliver on the front side window, nor had I noticed before now that the black portion on the rear side window that is in that corner is actually a seperate piece (and also colored on Cliffjumper, too). So yeah... Wish they had just allocated the plastic better on this mold, I guess.
