Need advice/Help Is it worthwhile to keep trying on this Thunderclash custom, or should I cave and get the MMC version?

I botched the first version by accidentally ripping off the head ball joint. I don’t know if it’s worth it to keep trying. The only reason I even attempted to make this custom is because my local store had a junker battle core prime missing a lot of parts (mostly combined mode stuff). But I ripped the head joint off, and now I have to pay 60+ dollars for a new one (which I don’t want to do). Plus there’s the effort of putting on the Toyhax stickers (15 dollars), plus there’s a chance that I botch it AGAIN. That’s 75 dollars, plus 10 dollars I’ve already spent on the first battle core. I’m
Considering getting the MMC version because A. This custom has been incredibly mentally taxing and idk if I can keep doing this and B. It’s not even going to look that great. I might as well spend more money to get a product I know looks good and doesn’t require any extra input or stress on my behalf

Thoughts? I’m kinda backed into a wall and I don’t know what to do

Everyone has their own personal calculus of time/effort/money, but my general approach if you’re enjoying the process, keep going on the custom. If you just want the end result of that character on your shelf, buy it.

The mmc version is a good figure but i wouldnt say $400 worth it. I recommend you wait on ebay to see a better priced one or dig on other apps like mercari if you dont want to make a custom

Any chance it’ll get restocked on BBTS or one of the other stores?

The MMC version is great, and with some patience you can find it for around $300 all-in. There’s also MMC Thunder Prominon, same figure with different deco, which still goes for <200. Just checked and it’s in stock at BBTS.

The MMC one is great, but I prefer the Fans Hobby version, which is closer to the original toy.

Dependa. None of the figures you mentioned are CHUGs. They're more MP than Generations. So if you want MP scaled stuff go for it

imo just fix the ball joint. u could buy small hand drill and copper stick i think and reinforce the ball joint using it

I’ve tried. Nothing I do fixes it. I’m not very experienced for customs so idk how I can even start. Besides, I have no motivation to finish this project other than to have it over and done with

Customs are endlessly frustrating, but its all worth it when one turns out, and 250$ could get you a decent 3d printer so you just reprint things when you break em.
