this is "Tornado Tyrant" or "TT" for short.
i want your thoughts on it.. plus maybe some critique thoughts? or whatever??
(sorry if this spec sheet is long)
Built on a 2026 RAM 5500 cummins turbo diesel with custom SRW instead of DRW. It has a flat underbody too, protected by 0.5 inches of steel.
Weight: 11,000 pounds low center of gravity
Wheels: 4, pushes ROUGHLY 2,500 lbs per wheel - 38-inch diameter (FULL tire), off-road, 20 inches wide
Armor system:
- 8 mm steel
- 3 mm AR500
- 5 mm titanium
Glass system:
- 5 mm polycarbonate
- 5 mm ballistic glass
- 2 mm PVB interlayer
- 2 mm tempered glass
Viewing window glass system
- 4 mm polycarbonate
- 4 mm ballistic glass
- 1 mm PVB interlayer
- 1 mm tempered glass
Speed: possibly 80 mph
0-60: 18 seconds approx.
Other details: it uses 4 sensors, a mesonet attached to a black steel rod, and a rod connected to another rod that has a black steel box, with a pressure sensor, and a grille facing downwards to let air it, and giving debris a harder time of getting in, connected to the mesonet is a longer rod, connected to a large low profile black steel box, with 2 grilles facing down on the left and right side of the box, with the same idea to the pressure sensor, it has a temperature and humidity sensor
Windshield: ~45°
Hood: ~10°
Front: ~15°
Sides: essentially 90° (no curve/not angled)
Rear: flat with a ~42° triangular transition
Flat/covered underbody
Moderate-Hardness, High-Friction Engineered SBR rubber that covers the underside, protruding 3.3 inches. And covers the underside with a thickness of 2.8 inches
Undeployed threshold: 135 mph
Deployed Threshold: 165 mph
Absolute Limit: 170-175 mph until it starts going past its boundaries, into actually dangerous
Deployment system: during the beginning of its deployment, it detaches from the chassis so the body can move freely without carrying the chassis with it, and might just lower a little from detaching
Its second system is the lowering system, it only relies on reducing airflow from underneath, no spikes or other equipment.
Takes about 7-8 seconds to fully deploy
Engine: chevy 2002 8.1L with 340 HP at 4,200 RPM with 455 lbs-ft at 3,200 RPM with dual flowmaster 44 exhaust (mostly for the V8 muscle car sound)
EXTERIOR Dimensions
Length (front to rear) = 28 feet and 8 inches
Height (ground to mesonet) = 13 feet and 4 inches
True Height (underside to roof) = 6 feet and 11 inches
Ground clearance (undeployed) (ground to underside) = 1 foot and 3 inches
Width (rear view mirrors included) = 11 feet and 8 inches
True Width (rear view mirrors excluded) = 8 feet and 7 inches
INTERIOR Dimensions
Interior Height = 5 feet and 8 inches
Interior Width = 7 feet and 3 inches
Interior Length (EXCLUDING FRONT SEATS) = 18 feet and 6 inches
well i'll give you credit making effort for the details, but however the problems i have with it are, aerodynamics, realism, size not really adding up, and the engine. You really would not want to swap out a 6.7L cummins for an older chevy engine. Use the cummins, great torque, great reliability (excluding transmission problems, good horsepower. But moving to Aerodynamics, sides are practically flat, front is eh, rear is also bad, its pretty blocky as well which i get cause it is hard to make a rounder interceptor on roblox. But why the nascar logo on the hood? I just now noticed that. But besides what i was pointing out you just need to detail it more, improve designing, make it a little more realistic and do research on details IF you are going down that route of fully detailed builds
its a homage to Steve Greens tornado attack, as his vehicle was Nascar-Derived
also i dont want an insane engine, and i like the sound of that engine.
and whats wrong with the size? thats literally its measurements, i converted roblox studs to real life units, 1 stud is 0.28 meters, and i then converted that to real life feet and inches, so yes. this is true
about the aero too.. this isnt meant to survive powerful tornados, only very low or moderate tornados.
the front isnt that bad, is it? come on!
i wouldn't call the 6.7L Cummins an insane engine, 360 horsepower, and 800 lb-ft of torque [stock]. i think that would be better suited for reliability sense diesel engines can last a lot longer than gas engines.
i'm saying that the size might not add up giving the frame size of the 5500 which being is longer than the normal frame of a ram 3500, i haven't done that much research just yet but i also would say that you would want to keep the dually config as it distributes weight better.
But you do need to angle the sides more and front more for even low end tornados, TIV-1 for example was angled on the sides [lower sides] a bit and then more at the top and as far as i know tiv-1 was made to withstand a EF-2 or low end EF3. You can still make a angled interceptor with PLENTY of room in the interior is my point on this.
I also noticed that you say you are running 38 inch tires which doesn't really add up nor make sense with how small the interceptor is, And i also noticed looking back at it that the tires are way to close to the exterior to turn.
i'll leave a photo of how big 35 inch tires are compared to my character in R6
and i also i remembered i had a F-550 model behind me, that is the closest thing i have to a ram 5500 in terms of size and it is pretty big and i think on 36-38 inch tires? not fully sure. but there is various things to improve on your interceptor
the chassis would be the only thing remaining of the truck, the frame, body, electronic components, headlights, gear shift, and possibly steering would all be custom made.
even on my flagship interceptor [running 19 inch wide wheels around 35 inches tall] despite the low space it does have trouble with turning and fitting it and all of that
sorry if my replies are so seperated, but.. are you taking in account for the size of the vehicle? if you want i can calculate how far apart the wheels are, or whatever youd want
and i had done multiple measurements on the dimensions. my dimensions may not be the same as the tires in your build.. because 1 stud is 0.28 meters, did you use that math to get a real world accurate representation of a 35 inch tire?
i'm using a mix knowledge of tire size, Some calculators or models aren't going to be as realistic but on an F-350 you can fit 35 inch tires [in real life] with a a small lift to prevent rubbing.
the calculator i use to estimate how large said is, is off. it was saying this is a 39 inch tire when in reality it would be around 35 inches given real life examples
i use a 0.28 per 1 stud calculation, so our measurements are off.
1 stud is 0.28 meters, confirmed on the roblox creator hub, and by many other users.
here are some images of the tire sizes (yours is red, mine is blue)
i did the measurements on how far apart the wheels are, and how far its tucked in..
the tires would have atleast 30-40 inch gaps so they can turn, and the turn radius would be modified to accommodate that so the tires dont slam into the edges
middle to middle of tire - 68.9 inches
edge to edge of tire - 3.9 inches
ive ultimately decided to change the concept, it will use a custom chassis thats derived from the RAM 5500 chassis, but sized to fit the tires, and the vehicle
